Okay, so I’ve played through all the Halo games tons of times but I always have these questions. I’m reading the books but so far they haven’t been explained them.
My questions are
-How come the chief survived the halo ring activation at the end of Halo 3? I get that it wasn’t fully built so it wasn’t as powerful as it normally would be but they reiterate several times in the books and games that a Halo ring activation destroys every sentient being in its blast radius. Was it that the ring just couldn’t handle being fired and just flat out exploded without firing? If so, since the Ark wasn’t destroyed, just badly damaged and there were still flood on it, the entire plan to blow it up to stop the flood just becomes meaningless.
-How was the chief recovered by the storm covenant in Halo 4? They show earlier in Halo 3 that the ark isn’t in the galaxy so did the forward unto dawn somehow drift all the way back to the galaxy?
- He wasn’t inside the blast radius.
- He went through slipspace with the rest of FuD.
he person above me answered the first question flawlessly. For ur second question technically the covenant didn’t “recover” him. When master chief entered the slipspace portal at the end of halo3 it just so happened that when came out of the other side of the portal he was near requiem. And at some point during the four years he was in space the covenant found requiem thus finding him. They were trying to get inside requiem until chief woke up kicked some -Yoink-, was scanned by requim to see if he was a reclaimed and the BAM!! requiem opens up chief and covies get sucked into reqiuem.
