Questions about skulls

In MCC when playing solo you can use a little exploit to get around the Iron skull by quitting to the main menu and then resuming but it appears you can’t do this in Halo 5. Unless I’m missing something. Is there any way to exploit the skull in Halo 5?

In the original non MCC versions of CEA, 2, 3, ODST, Reach and 4 did this exploit exist? For all of them? Is Halo 5 the only game where you can’t use the menu trick?

And does that technically make it the hardest game to LASO? I’m just running through the games on easy with all skulls on (only the skulls in the LASO playlist) to get used to how the games play with all skulls active. Then I’ll try normal, and then hopefully heroic and legendary. Probably won’t get that far. Beat all the easy MCC campaigns solo all skulls on and now I’m on 5. Even on easy I’m dying quite a bit except for Reach and 5 but 5 has the added weight of death actually mattering.

Are all the skulls on the MCC LASO playlists all of the original skulls from those games? I know Bandana is not included in CEA MCC LASO playlist. Is that just a choice MCC did to make it harder? Is there any other instance of them doing this?

I want to play the games as accurately as possible to the originals so I want to know what the original skulls in the games were, what was originally considered “All Skulls On” and if the quit/resume exploit could be used in the original versions of the games.

Also did anyone actually ever play Halo 2 LASO back in the day? You had to find all the skulls each time to activate them and they’d only remain on until you shut your Xbox off, right? So was anyone actually even able to pull it off?

Edit: I looked up the original skulls. Let me know if I missed any other differences. Piñata is not included on CEA LASO playlist despite it being in the original game just like Bandana as I pointed out earlier. And Grunt Funeral is included in MCC LASO playlist despite it only being available as a preorder in the original game so that one is debatable imo. Looks like they didn’t include Envy in the Halo 2 LASO playlist either despite it being an original skull in the game. These aren’t true “all skulls on” playlists. It’s just an “all skulls that will give you as hard a time as possible” playlist. Looks like the Grunt Birthday Party skull has been changed from Halo 2 as well. In the original game it caused headshots on any enemy to create a plasma grenade explosion. Also not a big deal but the Fog skull was originally called Cloud in Reach and 4 but was retitled to Fog for MCC so it would have the same name across the board. Just thought I’d mention that.

While I don’t know the answers to all of your questions I will say the reason they don’t have skulls like bandana or scarab enabled is it just makes It easier like if you had bandana on the famine skull would essentially be nullified and with the scarab skull you’ll just blast through everything.

Scarab I understand because that was added specifically for MCC. Some of the games on MCC have additional skulls added that weren’t part of the original games so I’m fine with them not being in the LASO playlist but if a skull was originally in the game I think it should count. At the very least I’d like to know if there are any other instances like that where a skull that was originally in the game is not in the LASO playlist or a skull that wasn’t in the game is in the LASO playlist. I’ll probably play CEA with Bandana on. I want to play the original LASO experience.

You can argue that you can use some of the other skulls they included to your advantage. And at the very least Grunt Birthday Party and IWHBYD don’t make things any more difficult. Bandana should be included imo. As with any other skulls originally in the games.

The save/quit trick is a glitch and not something that works consistently.

I think the main reason bandana is not in CE Laso it that it essentially nullifies the recession and famine skulls. You would have unlimited sniper, rockets, etc. Part of the laso experience I guess is using your ammo wisely. It would be a lot easier to do the playlist with unlimited ammo.
