Questionable Flood Gameplay

Ok, so I’ve been playing flood a lot recently because its quick xp and i try to avoid team games unless my actual team is all online. I would play FFA but the regicide gametype is really annoying to me so I tend to just -Yoink- around in flood.

Anyways, I’ve been playing a LOT (SR41) and I’ve started to browse the internet while playing. For the last few games I’ve been playing a bit differently. I’ll play as a spartan aggressively until i become infected. After i get infected I usually just set my controller down until the round is over and derp around online. Then I’ll start again for the next round.

If I start as an Alpha Flood then I will infect someone and then I will AFK until the round is over.

I find this to make my KD suffer less from playing flood, and I’m still getting decent gametime (Even though i rarely place above 3rd). I am curious though. I know you can get banned for leaving yourself AFK in the game for too long (Multiple games). Is staying in the back and not contributing to the flood aspect of the game a bannable offense even if I’m still playing when I’m a spartan?

If it is, I’ll stop. I dont really want a ban over my head especially when I’m having so much fun with my team in games like CTF and Oddball. I just want to know if this is an “Acceptable” way of passing my time while my friends are offline.

Why not, I don’t know, actually play the game? This is one of the many reasons why the community is going down the toilet. Does kill to death ratio even matter? I can’t tell you the last time I’ve ever checked someones KD in a Halo game, must have been H2 because it’s been so long. With the rank you’re at, what else could you possibly need? I’ve unlocked the majority of things and I’m at SR34.

I’m not doing it for the KD alone. I just want to know if its bannable or not. If its not, I’ll keep doing it, if it is, I’ll stop.

Anyone with any idea what the restrictions are on the ban, please post or give a link to their rules in regards to it (If they have them posted somewhere)

Let’s just say it is a bannable offense so you start being a useful part of your team and not one of those rude players.

I dont see how its rude. Its FFA. Im losing most the games anyways i dont see who its hurting

If all you care about is ranking up instead of actually playing, then just buy someones high account.

You get your big shiny number and you don’t have to play anymore.

If you do that, you at least won’t be leaving your team of flood to -1 person.

I wish we could ban people like you who intentionally afk. I hope you find your answer and it is a ban.

Help out your team, and play the game, or, just get off.

Wow, everyone on here is being a total -Yoink-. Like I said, I’ve done this for a few games and I was checking here to see what the terms were on it. Everyone on here acts like Im some kind of point -Yoink!- anti-christ.

I’ve been playing Infinity Slayer, CTF and Slayer Pro with my team for the better part of 3 days straight now. The whole reason for posting here was to see what everyone else thinks of it. I don’t see how finding a way to pass my time in between sessions with my team is “Just trying to get a super shiny rank”

Personally there aren’t any FFA gametypes so far that i find incredibly enjoyable. Regicide was created to let noobs have a chance of winning with a few kills on the king later on in the game and flood isn’t much more than a minigame.

Just a simple “Yes, you will be punished” would have been a fine answer but everyone here seems to get really really mad over a pretty silly concept.

I didn’t realize I would up and make the entire forum all butthurt. Sorry for trying to get clarification.
