Questionable choices made by the Spartan IVs

Why does Spartan Miller have mjonir armor? Why is Miller even a Spartan? From what I can tell his job description is to stay on Infinity and direct ground operations. Is the Spartan iV augmentation procedure and gen-2 armor so cheap that even people who don’t see combat get them? Wouldn’t it have been more effective to just have normal humans in the navy give intel and objectives to Spartans? The only answer: The Spartan IVs are run by a bunch of chimpanzees in suits, who just smoke cigars and read fine literature.

It does seem strange that he does but he did fight when the infinite was attacked.

Well, the Infinity would have been on high or mid alert for most of the time at Requiem (Jul would have had ships floating about somewhere). Maybe the Spartans (and probably other personnel) had to be equipped for combat while on active duty regardless of expecting combat in case of borders.

I think its one of those weird quirks of making the spartans be their own branch.

This is very accurate. Whenever we were on high alert in Iraq, even the support staff was in full battle rattle while sitting behind a desk. So it’s Standard operating procedure. That and the spartans are their own branch. Spartans ran by spartans. So it would make sense to have a spartan in charge of Spartan ground operations.

To be honest Miller being a Spartan is just dumb, he is a special forces solider, who’s armour and augemations that costs thousands of credits and he’s at a desk job?

Da -Yoink-?
