Question

I made a post saying the weapon skins in Halo CE didn’t work for me I found out they only work in classic graphics my question is why do they not work in the remastered graphics also

The skins weren’t made for the anniversary graphics in mind and as such haven’t been supported. Some of the Anniversary models are very different from the original that it would require a completely new texture. I think it’s pretty unlikely they will get supported, as they would need to rework the skins system solely for campaign.

This ^^^^

OP, Skins are for the OG CE and not the anniversary edition. This isn’t surprising considering that CE skins in Multiplayer were for the OG version of CE too.

Like the post above mentions, if they wanted to add CE skins in the anniversary edition of the game they would have to make that a separate texture.
Considering the complications of adding skins into CE & H3 campaigns I imagine making new skins for anniversary and then making that feature work is probably a lot more effort than it sounds.
They’ve had campaign skins on the work list for about 2-3 seasons and we’ve only just got them in now. Says a lot about the difficult to implement such a thing.

I was excited when I heard we would be able us skins in Champagne but disappointed when I found out they were only for the classic graphics these people make games for a living they could figure out how to make it work in both classic and anniversary graphics it’s their job after all

You’re missing the point.
It’s not about “getting them to work”. They’d have to literally make a whole new skin for each weapon & vehicle in the CE anniversary edition version of the game. Applying that skin for the game and making it fit the art style of the game is more work than a simple “copy & paste”.

Considering CE anniversary doesn’t have a multiplayer component I see little point in adding skins for the anniversary version of the weapons just so the skin can be used in Campaign.
If you want to see skins then you’re going to have to play classic Halo CE.

I find it funny that the ostensibly updated and improved version of the game does not have the more recent features.

Okay, so the updated models will require updated textures… Do it then? Yes, it’s not a five minute copy-paste job, but it’s hardly the most involved undertaking in game development either.

I never said it would be simple I’m pretty sure it can be done though just because the game does not have multiplayer does not mean that there shouldn’t be skins for players to use in the anniversary graphics I mean they need to make stuff for us people who like to play the campaign too and not just for people who enjoy the multiplayer only because they seem to cater to them a little too much at times

Multiplayer is catered to more because that’s what keeps the majority of players hooked on the game, that’s player retention. If there’s nothing keeping people coming back to play then people will stop playing and move on. That’s just basic player retention.

I’m not saying there shouldn’t be anniversary skins either however you’re expectation that they would be there even though they never existed in the first place is just whacky.
It certainly can be done however it would take time to do, this isn’t a easy thing to do by any means.
It took months to get skins into Halo CE & 3 already. I imagine getting skins into CEA would also take a lot of time too since it’s a different version of the game engine.

For me, I feel like the list of possible things that could come to MCC is already so big that this is so far down on the list.
Obviously you’re a campaign player and that’s completely fine. I understand why you would want this. But you’re going to catered to less than a person who plays multiplayer. That’s a harsh reality.
That may seem unfair to you but players who exclusively play campaign over multiplayer on a consistent basis are in a minority - therefore catered to less than players on the multiplayer side of the game.

So you are basically telling me that 343 industries doesn’t give a **** about campaign players

That’s not what he said at all. If they didn’t care they wouldn’t have updated the Campaign’s to reflect a more classic experience and they wouldn’t have added new stuff.

They did upgrade the graphics in the classic mode but they still have yet to add certain skulls to Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, Halo 4, AND Halo reach

Which I am sure they will get around to eventually. Support for the game isn’t finished and the game will continue to be updated next year. It may not be as much but 343i have given Campaign players content what with Halo: Reach armour, Halo 3’s Acrophobia skull, Moa statues to find, and classic updates. And now skins.

There’s really no need to escalate like that is there? I’ve noticed you’re very reactionary instead of thinking logically about the scenario here.
Instead of just getting mad that you’re not getting what you want think about why it hasn’t been implemented at this time. What challenges do 343 face with doing so. The team working on MCC isn’t massive.

Im trying to give you answers to your questions. You also may not like what you hear. I’m not going to reply with lies and false information to give you class hope.

Thank you, I appreciate the rational approach to what I’m saying. There’s plenty of opportunity for more campaign stuff in the future. With multiplayer seasons being over now I imagine that Campaign is likely to get more love

Precisely. I mean, sure, there are things that are still missing from the multiplayer side that can be added such as the missing armour, other Halo Online maps, skins for Halo: Reach, etc; but support for the game hasn’t finished, it’s just been put on hold which Xoman doesn’t seem to understand. Once Halo: Infinite has been released and 343i have had time to focus on it for a while, they’ll turn their attention back to the Collection.

It may not be as much but 343i have given Campaign players content what with Halo: Reach armour, Halo 3’s Acrophobia skull, Moa statues to find, and classic updates. And now skins.

It is just that there are certain things I would like to be added to the game some time before I die which could be tomorrow or another 60 70 or 80 years from now you never know
