No, there isn’t.
Sorry to be the one to break the news to you bud, but there is no split-screen in halo 5 at all. :c
They have said that split screen may eventually come but they have had huge frame rate issues with split screen in the past so they ditched it in an effort to work on more important things.

I doubt a huge component like split screen would be added in an update, so I think your right.
