(Mods, I don’t see why you moved this post. It deserves discussion and you are doing exactly what 343i is doing. We don’t appreciate your censorship. Let there be discussion.)

Original Post:
Since 343i doesn’t care to read the MCC forums and listen to the people who paid a lot of money for their unfinished game, I thought I would post this topic someplace where they (might, but probably won’t) read it.
Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t to spam or post in the wrong forum to troll, but you guys have a serious issue here. 343i, have you even looked in the MCC forum in the past year? People are wondering if they got scammed by you guys. Is that the legacy you want to leave behind? “343i, the company that used the Halo ip to build a pool in their backyard”?
The game is still broken; glitches that you said were fixed are still there, matchmaking is a joke, and the list goes on and on! Seriously, go check out the forum and you will that every other post is a complaint or a rant about how you still haven’t updated the game in almost two years. Yet here you sit, pushing out whatever DLC or packs there are in Halo 5 and have totally forgot about the legacy that got you here.
A lot of players would be happy even if you said “No, we are not updating the game” rather than sit silent on your piles of money. So what’s the word 343i? Are we going to get an explanation as to why you haven’t updated MCC, or are you going to be the company that loves to collect money in exchange for a poor product?

I would agree this belongs in the MCC forums…

Quote from ske7ch’s Q/A:

"What’s going on with the Master Chief Collection?”

“What’s going on with the Master Chief Collection?”"

That’s a great question and something I’ve been working to better understand during my first two weeks at the studio. What I do know is that nobody here has forgotten the launch issues and how it impacted the Halo community. It’s something that everyone in this studio lives through every day.

MCC continues to be played and enjoyed by a lot of people to this day, and while its been greatly improved since release…it’s not perfect. I know some people still experience oddities and inconsistent behaviors that hamper their enjoyment, while others play and enjoy it just fine.

Many of you just want to know what’s going on and if you can expect further patches and updates in the future. While I can’t definitively commit to specific fixes at this exact moment, rest assured that MCC continues to be discussed and researched internally as part of the broader “Halo sustain” plans and priorities, including the potential of playlist refreshes.

The studio as a whole shares my own personal desire to improve transparency with fans, so our community team will continue to help facilitate that dialog and share any and all news, even if it might not be what (or when!) the community ideally wants to hear, as soon as we have something to share.

Another ske7ch quote:

" I also hear you regarding some ongoing hardships with MCC and it’s something I (and many others) have top of mind at the studio as we think about the road ahead.

I’m new here so I can’t really claim to fully know everything you’ve all been through over the past few years but at the very least I totally get the frustration that’s been felt when it feels like you aren’t being heard and concerns aren’t being acknowledged.

I definitely want to help with that aspect even if I can’t personally make everything better or whip out a quick re-master of Halo 3. I’m going to continue to push internally and dig to find answers and information even if we ultimately find it’s not what folks want to hear.

IMHO, I think 343 has done the best they can with the MCC and, aside from a bizzare bug or glitch, I haven’t had any remarkably bad experiences.

A possible reason for why they may be reluctant to attempt further fixes is that it may undo the work they’ve already done on it.

ske7ch.

Every one should know by now MCC is as good as it’s ever going to get. They aren’t going to put any thing else into it. To many players have given up on it and simply don’t play it. I very rarely go back to it and usually only find games in action sack and BTB. Occasionally I get games in H2 and H2A. The population is pretty low so the match making is going to be hit or miss quite often. 343 simply bit off more than they could chew with MCC. It will sadly never be a fully functional game.
