QUESTION: Xbox One 720p TV requirement.

Okay so I was browsing the net looking at this stupid continuation of these console wars when I came across this webpage. (I have already preordered the xbox one on amazon) One of the requirements says that I require a 720p tv. The thing is that I think my tv is 480p, it’s an older tv but not too old. Am I going to have to buy a new tv to be able to play the xbox one?

That’d be better suited for Xbox Support, not Waypoint.

Probably, but General Discussion also includes other Xbox-related topics, so it’s fine here!

Anyways, yes, you will likely need to purchase a new TV. The Xbox One only has an HDMI output, and most (if not all) 480p TVs lack an HDMI input.

Thanks. I’ll just have to get myself a new tv in that case.

I’m sure you can find an adapter for it?

Wait, really? I’ve got an old box Television. I’ve wanted to get rid of it, but I figured that TVs update every 6 to 12 months, so I’d be better off waiting until this one inevitably fried at some point. I guess this is an excuse to get a new TV. :stuck_out_tongue:
