Question regarding Warden Eternal

So, I was relistening to the Halo 5 mission audio again, and got the Forerunner Builder. It’s when he says, “The Warden walks again. How?” This made me go, “Wait a minute,” and remember that in Dominion Splinter from Tales from Slipspace, it’s after Cortana accesses the Domain and reprograms the ancilla that she designates him as her Warden Eternal. I know this is something pretty minor, but what the hell? What do you think is the expiation for this little discrepancy?

Did she designate him as “Warden Eternal” or simply as HER Warden Eternal? Or maybe he was just the Warden and she made him Eternal by giving him infinite bodies?

IIRC, she designates him as HER Warden Eternal. I suspect that Warden was his normal designation, and Cortana intended for him to always serve her, as he’d be eternally loyal to her. Also suspect that he is the Warden from Cryptum that assisted Faber.

Boom. We’ve cracked it.

No, they share no relation.

The Warden Eternal was always his designation; the difference is who he serves, he always had his several million bodies and was designated by the Forerunner Ecumen Council to protect the Domain.

Odd nitpick here… but there is actually a Forerunner AI called “The Warden” that is entirely separate from the Warden Eternal. Could that be what the audio log was referring to? It’s unlikely, but thought I’d add that info to the discussion.

“always serve her”. Except where they constantly argued and fought each other in Halo 5.

Their argument makes about as much sense as her assured ruling of “10,000” years. An implosion already in the process. It hurts that H5 Cortana actually thinks this constant back and forth fools anyone in Blue Team.
