What if I got The Master Chief Collection digitally when I bought my Xbox One on Black Friday but never played it until immediately after they released the news about ODST? A friend and myself jumped on real quick and played 2 online games, one in halo 2 classic and one in halo 3. We hadn’t played it before because we got some other games to hold us over until the MCC multiplayer got better. Think we would still be eligible?

From what I read, you had to have loaded up the game and played online for it to count. The idea of this is to be a part-apology to those who have been struggling with games issues since launch. If you haven’t played it, you haven’t experience any of the issues. Sounds like you just want free stuff for the sake of free stuff

It’s not because I want free stuff for the sake of free stuff, it’s because I liked ODST. I understand that it is a token to express their apologies, and as I openly said, I hadn’t played yet because I was waiting for it to be fixed. In the FAQ for the update containing the info about the incentive, I thought I read that they had no intentions of releasing ODST for anyone other than the people who met the requirements. I did it because it seems right now that it’s the only way to access the ODST add-on. If it ends up being that I don’t qualify and they release it as a dlc or something for everyone else later on, I’ll be glad to pay the price for it.

Do you know how they are actually picking who can get the game and who wont? I played the game on launch night/morning, 12 am, and on weekends since, got to be over 100 MM games now. I don’t play every day like I said, mainly Saturdays and Sundays, some Thursday nights. I did not play on the 19th, does this mean I won’t get H3 ODST because I didn’t play yesterday? The reason I ask is I read that Bonnie Ross said people that have played since 11/11 through 12/19 would get the game. I hope this isn’t some technicality where I won’t get the game now. Heck, I played Thursday night, (Tried too anyway. Sat in a lobby waiting for games for ever and then gave up), and this morning. I just got on waypoint here a bit ago and found out about the new game only within the last hr or so.

Yes, you only have needed to played it sometime between launch day and today/yesterday.
