I’m not sure if this has been asked yet, but how are the elites and jackals able to breathe without helmets while on the Forward Unto Dawn? I mean as they get sucked from space into Requiem. We’ve seen this in most of the released material. Half of the ship is cut off and there shouldn’t have been any air left to make use of an airlock, so I’m curious to hear some theories.
Some of them had helmets on, and anyway, not all of the ship has been deprived of oxygen.

Yuppers.

But what about Grunts? since they breath Methane.
grunts always carry a methane tank on their back
The suits the Grunts and Jackals wear since they’re Rangers is built to board space crafts like Elite Rangers. So there is oxygen for the Jackals while the Grunts all have methane. The ranger suits are only for those with the rank of a ranger to board space craft. Same goes for Ultra Grunts in Halo Reach on Long Night of Solace when you go inside the ship the gravity is on. For instance, if you turn the gravity on and your covie buddies that don’t have the ranger suit to protect them, then they’re -Yoinked!-. They die right away. Rangers are the only ones to handle this sort and dangerous environment. In order for the other Covies to get in the Rangers must disable the gravity and everything before the rest move in other wise they die. Without the helmet I’m sure they would die right away. Since its a video game that won’t happen because it’s not programed into the game, but in books they will describe that very well how they die if they don’t have the ranger outfit on or if the helmet is off.
So basically, it’s like you wearing a space suit but if you take it off you’re done for.
Seriously. It’s time to start using Spoiler tags!!

It’s not really a spoiler, 343 has released tons of footage themselves showing elites and such on the FUD.

Yeah this seems plausible. Odd, but plausible. I know at the end of Halo 3 there definitely wasn’t any oxygen in the cryo bay. But I guess when he escapes, he accesses the parts still sealed off with the airlock, which is probably where the covenant are.
Grunts always have a methane tank on their back, and some of the new Storm grunts have a nose plug instead of a helmet, which is why you could see their faces.
Theres obviously oxygen since there is fire on the ship

At the end oh halo 3 there wasnt fire(legendary ending) or nvm, im hurtin my brain too lazy too think

Perhaps as the FuD gets closer to Requiem there is a small amount of atmosphere around it to breathe fire back through the wreakage?

Maybe the hull was being burned by atmospheric entrance, I’m not sure about Forerunner gravity wells, but it could play a part in it.(I’m not sure about the distance from the planet at that point). Or the covenant opened a few doors that had air pockets and it made it possible for fire to start.
I was thinking they pressurized part of the ship because they were’t in zero-G either.
