Will there be any differences on the xbox one x update if I dont have a 4k tv? or is the patch purely just a 4k HDR update.
Not to high jack the thread but i also have a question. i didnt see anything listed under the post about hdr. Last i hurd hdr was going to be coming to H5. Is it or isnt it?
Its dependant if it’ running on an Xbox one x or not. You have to manually your console to even allow x enhancments to download. I already have GoW4 enhancm3nts downloaded but looks no different as it’ not running on x yet.
Assuming you are upgrading, yes you will get benefits from super sampling and other benefits. I honestly prefer super sampling though, selecting higher resolutions than 1080p even though I use a 1080p television. Looks cleaner and smoother. In a really good way
Also not to highjack this thread (this is now the unofficial question thread for the Nov 2 patch lol) but ske7ch, any idea how big this patch will be? Not all of us have unlimited data and some of us have to plan accordingly for big updates (like going to a friend’s house to download the update if needs be for example)

You’ll see how big it is when the option to update becomes available. If I had to guess, though, a few gigs.

Real world example from me, I also have the ps4pro. So I have a few games that render natively above 1080p, and a few were I can select 1080p, or 4k (in last of us case, I can select between 4k, 1880p or 1080p) more often than not, I tend to prefer the super sampling option by making the game run at a higher resolution. And while not hyper drastic I can notice a differense. More so if I can toggle back and forth.
The games tend to look a lot better, cleaner. And the softness some games have, I select the higher option and while the game looks nearly the exact same, the soft look is gone.
For a reference I have a 1080p, and don’ plan on getting a 4k tv until the next proper generation of ps5 and whatever th next Xbox is.
