Question on Specializations and Ranking Up

When you complete a specialization are you forced to choose the next, or can you simply not select one and not level up?

I am asking because I am currently a level 59 Operator and I only have access to wetwork at 60. I really don’t want wetwork and want to go for pioneer but i have not received my e-mail code yet.

Once I am 60 can i simply not choose wetwork and remain at 60 until i receive the e-mail or must i choose wetwork?

You can wait as long as you want, keep in mind that none of your XP gained at SR-60 will go towards your next Specialization, including commendation & challenge XP.
