Question on Pre Order bonuses

So, my brother and I have pre-ordered Halo 5 from Gamestop. However, I have a question that I can’t seem to find the answer to on the internet. Will the bonuses apply to all accounts on the console, or just whoever puts the code in? We both want the Hunter Armor, so I’m hoping it applies to all.

Thanks for the help.

you would need a code per xbox live account, so effectively two copies of the game

Really? It doesn’t effect the whole console like the Destiny Expansion Pass did?

No; because it’s not content as an expansion is. It’s will be on one account only.

Well, that’s incredibly unfortunate. I had no idea it was for just one person. I guess we’ll either have to fight over it or debate with an unlucky Gamestop employee over getting another code.

It’s not the same thing, an expansion pass is downloaded separately and it’s connected to the console and the xbox account, not your destiny character, so as long as your xbox is in home you can both play with it.

For the hunter armor, it’s just an easier way to get the armor it’s not exclusive btw, the redeemable code is just used to give you an in-game item and your xbox account doesn’t keep the code like it does for expansion packs.

It’s like if you get a code that gives you 1 Suros Regime, it will give it to your destiny character and the code becomes useless, if not you could create multiple accounts in the console and trade them to other people (I used destiny as an example because you mentioned it but think of an rpg where u can trade)

That debate won’t be long…good luck though

Call your local gamestop store and ask them if the answer is you need two codes ask them what you can do but stop into the store over the phone won’t get you too far trying to haggle on things like this

I’m not sure, but I can tell you this;
I had two accounts on my XONE, and the “Halo: Nightfall” code was downloaded on their account. I am unable to watch “Nightfall” on my profile, since theirs was the original download.
This may be the issue you run into if you have a shared console.

Although, the armor you want can be obtained in-game, and once you see the other armors, you may not even want the “Hunter” armor anymore.

Well, hold on now, I bought the Championship Bundle pack for Halo 4, and all the accounts on my Xbox were able to use the Mark V, ODST, and Prefect armor. Why would it be any different for Locke’s armor in Halo 5?

Besides being different games & different console … it’s still Xbox LIVE, shouldn’t it work the same? Especially since the Xbox One is more friendly when it comes to sharing things than the 360 was. Though more of more of the game is kept online and off the console, only linked to your account, so maybe not. It may have been easier since before the content was right there on the system. I really don’t know. All I know is, I had three accounts for Halo 4 where I had all the Spartans wearing Mark V armor that I bought using only one of the accounts.

So … OP, I’m gonna say … “maybe”.

Interesting. My bro’s gonna go talk to the guys at Gamestop later today and figure it out. If all else fails, we’ll just politely haggle him for another code. We combined our money to buy it, after all.

The reason I want to get it this way is that I’m in college, and my Xbone is at home. I can only play (and get REQ packs) when I’m home, so my odds of getting a rare piece of armor are pretty low.

License transfer with your brothers account and you could maybe get it.

MrMartini85 that is an expansion pack. Expansion and map packs can be shared, anything else is per account. So as i said one code one account, xbox live has been like that for a decade. The system registers on your account , not the hardware. Debating with Gamestop won’t get you one either, its not like that have a bag full of spare codes as the codes are in the game box, I would suggest a coin toss and be done with it
