I will be acquiring Halo 4 some months after release and was wondering whether I can still get the season pass without the game.

No I think you need to own the game to get the pass. I think the game is the pass. Isn’t it?
You can purchase the season pass whenever, i.e. it is not a limited offer. So you can wait to buy the pass until you get the game if you want.

ok, ill explain. When you get the LE, it comes with access to the next three dlc packs. You know that part right? Well that thing is called the war games season pass (what this guy is talking about). Apart from getting it with the LE, you can also purchase it by itself of the LIVE marketplace for 2000 MS points ($25), instead of buying all three map packs separetly for 2400 MS points
I think it will be like in GoW 3 or Mass Effect.

I am buying a LE copy of the game an it will include the season pass… My question is “will it give the same bonus Armors and access to the same specializations as the season pass that you would buy separately?”

More than likely, yes. They’re probably just putting DLC codes for the pass, registering it as the same deal.
