Question of the day: joining in progress

do think joining in progress in matchmaking is miserable if so then tell me why you hate it?

It has its ups and downs to it. I like it only in the beginning of the game because if people quit out, there is more people instantly. I dont like it when the game is in sessions because most of the time you get a losing game.

Like MEA Lone Wolf42 said: It has its ups and downs to it.

I rather have this JIP than nothing.
I hate those matches where the hole leaves and its just me.
I can hide or be target practice, and its even worse in objective with fixed spawns.

So yeah JIP has its flaws but its better than nothing.

I just wish you wouldn’t join games that are over half way through.

my thread is rubbish

It would be a PERFECT idea if and only if we had the option to turn it ON and OFF…until that day comes it is pretty annoying…

It kind of turns any Halo match into a hockey game where players enter and exit the game on the fly. The difference is that on the hockey teams everyone know whats going on and what they need to do when they hit the ice. That, and the fact that all the players want to be in that game.

JiP’s problems lie around the fact that people quit before the game starts for whatever reason, and the players that replace them quit for the same reasons. A lot of times the players at the end of the game are completely different from the players that started.

JiP should either be limited to the first 30 seconds or so and/or you should be able to pick the game/map combo you would be willing to join in so that you don’t have players joining and immediately quitting.

Ultimately I don’t see the joining problems being much different from the quitting problems, solution-wise.

I dont like the JIP at the end or nearly ending of the match. I guess that is my only problem with it.

I would like it if it were just in the first minute or two of the game. I hate it when I join and the other team is about to win.

I really love joining a game with just one or two kills left for the opposing team. the system works great.

JIP is a nice idea on paper. But as anyone here can attest to, if you go into a playlist (like infinity slayer) alone, you often get thrown into games where the other team already has a 10 kill advantage, power weapons, and map control. My personal record is 5 straight games of JIP (although I will admit 2/5 was early in the game with ample time to recover). I think they should lower the time for JIP to the first minute of the game or if the score is within 5 kills (And Maybe 1 flag cap, 1 extraction, etc).

I don’t think putting in an option to turn off JIP would work b/c then almost everyone would turn it off. The people who don’t are more likely to be the ones less familiar with the game and updates. The system will then have less people to throw into games that have already started, making the players who are still opted in to have even more JIP games. That would be extremely frustrating for those players and would turn them away from the game hurting the population even more.

I absolutely hate JIP. Long story short, if you’re JIP’d, you’re being forced to probably lose someone else’s games. It doesn’t belong in Halo.

It’s garbage. Solution? When people quit in the voting menu, fill their slot before starting the game. Simple. As for if people quit in-game, put a couple hour ban if they quit 3 times in an hour.

Depends on the playlist. I find it much more frustrating in objective playlists for example, and think it is completely unneeded in FFA.

JiP is terrible. Always throws you into a ridiculously lopsided match with your losing, game almost over.

343 did a terrible job with JiP just like they did with the over all game.

I hate it. I hate it so much. I literally quit EVERY SINGLE JIP game I get. I always join the losing team, and half the time the game is already halfway over. It’s more frustrating than Armor Lock, more annoying than the Boltshot, more infuriating than lag.

JIP is a hell of a lot better than reach where at least 40% of games were over at the start because the team lost a player or 2 and can never recover
