Question of the day. If you could change one thing

Hey all,

So today i come with a question for you, let’s say in some magical world tomorrow 343i come to you and say you can change ONE thing in halo 5 and it’ll be done Anything at all, what would you change and of course why? i ask this because i gather a fair bit of the community are not happy about some aspects of H5, so for me? it’d have to be war zone, i’d somehow (no idea how) change it so that it’s not a pretty version of TDM where most people choose to farm kills and not play the objective. but that’s just me. so go on then hit me with it. whatcha gonna change in this magic world?

I would change the salt levels of the parts of the community we all know of

Edit: and with firefight announced I think my wish just came true

I always say if there was one thing I could change it would be doing away with the spartan charge. It’s the only thing that consistently aggravates me in arena. I’ve learned to counter it fairly well, but it really is a move that someone with zero talent can pull off just from running around like an idiot. lol

I would change the UI there are all kinds of features missing that would make this game so much better / user friendly

I’d take out the req system…

Or at least all the cosmetics in the req system and make them unlockable through commendations.

Sprint. Get this -Yoink- out of Halo.

A fair few pepole say that but with your view on things i find my self wondering would that not make the game even more sweaty, like i get that if your a rich 12 year old your sorted, just grind the packs with money and bobs your uncle but if iy was all done through commendations you’d find the rich 12 year old camping round every corner with every possible gun would you not? the corner camping in this game is bad enough (i’m look at you warzone and breakout)

Twist the top salt shaker loose so when the next person pours its spills a lot of salt

I think Halo 5 is a solid game. I really do. That said, soooo many things come to mind for this question. I’m not going to cheat and have a bunch of honorable mentions (always laugh when people pull the ‘I was going to say x, y, and z, but I’ll go with…’)

Campaign story.

As a huge lore fan, Halo 5 story was a big turn off. Even after reading the books, knowing the universe, playing all the games and being an all out Halo nerd… I just couldn’t connect. It tried to do too much without really completing anything to form long lasting, epic memories. It didn’t feel ‘well thought out’ at all to me.

So I would have Halo 5 feed from Halo 1-4 events to ‘continue the story’. So many good developments didn’t get touched and were ultimately forgotten. I would also make MC the main playable character. Locke was a very forgettable main char. I understand the ‘idea’ for what they did (again, I’ve read the books), but it was poorly executed.

+1 to this.

If I could change anything? Tweak the matchmaking system to only team me up with total badasses.

Realistically, I’d like to see the Warzone legendary boss scoring change (prorate first 100 points based on damage, 50 point bonus for final shot).

It wasn’t a problem in reach so i’d just add the credit system back , it would work better than commendations IMHO.

I would enable HUD customization along with increasing the motion sensor radius

HA HA HA!

Prolly remove sprint.

But then you’d have to nerf nades, and thruster cause the resulting spring of nades being OP and then Thruster being OP.

I gotta agree with that, i’m not as in debth to the story as you but i do feel that they went a bit OTT in the hype train for the story, let’s not get to mentioning the " hunt the truth " audio series and then like not one reference to it, i might have just missed something but it seems that way to me.

It promotes bad play as well. Sprinting all the time keeps your guard down and lowers your reaction time dramatically. Sprint is fine in and of itself, but Spartan charge really is just awful.

True…hate when my team does 99.99% of the damage to lose that 150 points to the other team when they only did 0.01% of the damage

100% agree.

All the multiplayer stuff you can at least adapt to and over come. Can’t over come the Campaign that easily…
