In the Halo Delta Mission (and the following Kill the Prophet Mission) you walk through Ruins on the Big Lake. Then Cortana said: ~“The forerunners build their stuff over the older things to protect them.” Then she adds that she dunno it right exactly.
So: are the Halo-Rings build by the Presecutors now? Or some1 else? Or what’s up with it?
(If there was an answer in a book, I dunno it… so thx for your help.)
Well, in Cryptum… Master Builder let some species be in the Halos, and they built their little cities and societies. Most likely, after they were removed, the Forerunners came and started building on their ruins with their own tecnology.But I’m not sure.

Can’t for the life of me remember where, but I recall reading that the ruins might have been older Forerunner buildings that were moved from their original location to the ring to be preserved. It would make sense too seeing as they share the same architectural style, just different material and not on such a grand scale as the regular buildings on a halo.
