I loved Halo 3 for its multiplayer, but this one is better.
Sure, it’s not perfect. There are a few glaring problems, but they seem to care, since they’ve got a map pack coming, a tournament coming up, a possibility of another S-OPS season, and another title update coming in focusing on balancing and sandbox.
Even with the campaign, which I have already beaten and have almost no desire to do solo legendary, I have to say that I am somewhat upset with how the game turned out. Especially when big key in game options such as custom games, file browser, forge, and these specializations were either left out on accident or not even ready for launch.

It’s alright but inferior to Halo 3. Classic Halo aside, there are so many blatant issues that would be so easy to fix that haven’t been fixed, that is frustrating.

heres what got me. Simple. Halo 1-3 was simple. it was fun. but simple. and while it was fun. in todays gaming industry it wouldnt have done as well as a lot of forum goers would like to think.
that said i do actually prefer halo 4 to previous installations.
I love the Halo canon. However, replayability highly comes from the Multiplayer. While I love Spartan Ops and it gives me both, the replayability isn’t as high as Multiplayer. Why? Because scripted AI’s and spawns will never be the same as real people with random engagements every single game.
So, my answer? While I would be very upset that no new Halo canon was introduced at all, and the game was just Multiplayer, I would still love it due to the fact it would have high replay value. And it’s Halo. That by itself would have me sold, because I’m a huge fanboy.
> Where did you hear about a title update for sandbox and balancing? That is exciting news.
It was announced in the release notes for this TU. They laid out the plan for quite a few things going forward and it all sounded like great news.
So many people on here saying that 343 doesn’t care about the community but I disagree. This was an enormous undertaking and they are going to perfect this out over time so everything will be exceptional for the flagship title of the next gen console.
To the OP, despite its current problems, I’m happy with the multiplayer component of this game. It will keep getting better.
Battlefield 3 had all sorts of issues at first and they got much of that sorted over the first few months.
They are making these blockbuster games that belong on next gen consoles now, so there’s bound to be limitations or problems out of the gate that need to be addressed.

Agreed. So much agreeing with this post.
Halo 2 was my favorite Halo game of all time. Still is. Why? Well, Multiplayer-wise, it sure wasn’t because when it first came out. Halo 2’s Multiplayer is the best still, but it only became the best after many TUs after the game had been out for a while.
Halo 3 is my second favorite Halo game… as of right now. Halo 4 is third, but with TU’s and Ranking System, it will become my second favorite Halo game. It’s just going to take time. I can be patient for this to happen.
But can Halo 4 be my new Halo 2? Possibly. I highly doubted this at first, but now I can possibly see that happening. However, for that to happen, it’s going to take time.
Interestingly, it’s the dedicated Halo “fan boys” that are having the biggest problem with the few minor changes in Halo 4, not defending the changes. You have it backwards, in this case.
Dawn - nonexistent
Requiem - great
Forerunner - great
Infinity - hideous
Reclaimer - somewhat interesting
Shutdown - nonexistent
Composer - great
Midnight - nonexistent
As for the op, I’d be devastated.

Agreed.
There are some things that they have brought back in the campaign:
-checkpoint delaying by meleeing (H2) and shooting the Banshee plasma cannons (CE)
-non-scripted enemy patrolling (CE)
-meleeing grenades without detonating them (H2)
There’s also improvements:
-most Elites no longer bother with turning melees
-Elites berserk less often
-Jackals play hard to get, no longer hacking the plasma pistol
-Grunts and their little methane jumps
I think the campaign could use sleeping Grunts. Halo 4 is the only Halo game thus far to lack this.
So you’re implying that people who enjoy the game are fanboys am I right? You’re logic is as fail as your definition is. No wonder why this community is being so degenerate.

Do you not understand the definition of a -Yoinking!- OPINION!!!
