Question for people that played Halo 2 Vista

Did Halo 2 Vista have the proximity chat exactly like in H2 on original xbox? Press the chat button to talk to your teammates directly or just speak and anybody nearby can hear you, friend or foe. I never played it so I don’t know if it worked that way or not.

Yeah it was proximity based, everyone could hear you if you got close to them in game while talking.

It barely worked in Vista.

Frankly I went straight to Skype or something (voice only) because I found chat hardly ever worked :frowning:

h2v was an awful abomination of a port. it barely worked and had lots of problems

hmmm so I wonder why they took it completely out for MCC. it just doesn’t make any sense to me, seems like they had to purposefully go out of their way to remove a unique and great feature from halo 2. i wonder if anyone has ever come across an explanation for this or come up with a good reason why they would do this

I don’t know about proximity voice in h2c, but whenever I play H2A I always hear the other team talking lol. It is really strange and it is not like it is proximity voice either it is full on their callouts and so forth. Just started happening after the last update.
