Question concerning steam and xbox.

I have one very simple question to any hardcore halo followers/devs,
if I purchase Halo: Infinite on steam, will i be able to also play the game on xbox? I am currently planning to buy an xbox at the end of December but I also want to pre order Infinite, will this be similar to MCC, where i can play on both platform without buying it separately? Please let me know, my PC is pretty underpowered and I’m used to playing halo on controller.

Best wishes.

no you won’t be able to. but I think if you buy it on the ms store or xbox app on pc you’ll be able to play it on pc and xbox, but I’m not sure abt this you’d have to look up abt it.
If you definetely want to play on both, game pass ultimate is your best choice imo.

Yeah I would just just get a series X/S if possible, get game pass, and just play it on either one lol

following the example of other games the answer is no

This question is two-fold. If you are asking purely about campaign, then you would need to buy the campaign on both steam and xbox separately. Your progress and save will carry over between both because of xbox cloud saves and even when playing through steam you will need to connect an xbox live account to play Halo Infinite. However if you have Game Pass Ultimate then you can play the campaign through the Xbox app on PC (technically the Microsoft store or whatever they call it now) since Infinite will be launching day one on Game Pass. Regardless of where you play all of your progress and unlocks will follow you as long as you use the same Xbox Live account. Multiplayer is free-to-play so you can start on Xbox and then migrate over to PC/Steam and you will be right where you left off since everything is linked to your Xbox Live account.

TLDR As long as you use the same Xbox Live account then no matter where you play your progress will carry over with you. If you don’t use game pass then you will need to buy the campaign separately for each system/platform you wish to play on.

Xbox ecosystem usually has crossbuy.

Thanks this clears things up

Unfortunately, I don’t think you will be able to

If you buy it here, you’ll have it both on Xbox and PC with just one purchase:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/halo-infinite-campaign/9NP1P1WFS0LB
On PC, you’d be able to install it through the Microsoft Store. You wouldn’t have access to it on Steam, though. Not sure why that would really matter. I guess if you like getting Steam achievements?

There is actually a good reason for that, any and all Microsoft online purchases (whether it’d be Xbox live, an Xbox game or a Microsoft store game) are banned and cannot be bought with our credit cards…
The problem is that Microsoft and Xbox give no information as to why, I have contacted them dozens of times and I suspect that it’s not their fault and is in fact the government’s fault, because PS+ has the same problem.
But if they actually confirmed that, people wouldn’t be confused.
So that is why I want to buy the game on steam, so I don’t have to find some black market ways of buying the game on Xbox.

If that’s the case, you might want to reconsider purchasing an Xbox system. You’re going to be pretty limited with what you can do with an Xbox if all Microsoft online purchases are banned for you.

The thing is, a lot of people in my countries do play online (on ps and xbox) and they have found methods of buying games.
Keep in mind, the region is not the problem, the region of the credit card is the problem.
