In Reach it did not matter what playlist you were in you ranked up simply by playing. Is this true in Halo 4, specifically if you are playing the Halo 4 campaign do you rank up your Spartan 4?

I believe you can only receive the points for ranking up in multiplayer related things, like War Games, Spartan Ops, and Forge. I don’t think you get multiplayer points for Campaign, but I think there are challenges that will count that you can do in Campaign.
campaign will have challenges you can get EXP in.
Maybe even commendations
