question about split-screen

Just a quick question: how is H4 going to look split screen…particularly 4-player? I’m hoping the detail level, or at least the object distance is increased from Reach, because as often as I play 4-player split-screen, it’s really hard to see opponents or objects across maps…not to mention if opponents do get halfway across a grid’s width their spartan turns into a 2d blob. I don’t recall this being as bad of an issue in H3 though, though I know they were using lower-detail models for everything.

LoL this is not serious?
U cant expect better graphics in splitscreen.
Dont play in splitscreen and you will have all the details. Buy your friends an Xbox if they cant get one.

It’s a perfectly reasonable question. 4 player splitscreen is a lot harder to play in Reach because of the draw distance. In my opinion, rare features like 4 player splitscreen online and even just offline should be prioritized over things like custom armour and such. You may not play splitscreen but there are plenty of people who do – myself included.
O and “buy your friends an Xbox?” That’s just a stupid thing to say honestly. In conclusion, it’s not a concern of ‘nice graphics’, it’s a performance issue.

Indeed. it’s very frustrating when playing even on a small map(1 forge grid) you can’t see someone shooting you that would even be seen clearly on a 2-way split because he’s setting beyond what the draw distance will show, which only reaches halfway across the map.

Lol you can’t compare XBL to split-screen. You just can’t.

I didnt know that i mentioned XBL…

And yes i can. You cant get better draw distance with splitscreen. There is something called technical limit…

Buying your friend an xbox implies playing through XBL. And I never meant a technical comparison (duh). If you’ve ever actually played a true split-screen (or even better, system link) game you’d know it beats XBL any day.

It’s so weird in 4 player split screen, if someone is driving a mongoose or something more than 100 or so feet away, it’s just a person floating at fast speeds… even farther, and it’s just a pair of headlights going across the map.

Gears mask the graphic downgrade very well on split-screen, but Reach.
