Question about soundtrack

I bought the Anniversary soundtrack, but I haven’t opened it and I already have the soundtrack for the original Halo CE. Do you know what’s different? I noticed that there’s more tracks in the Anniversary addition and that the total runtime is about 15 minutes longer. Is it that different and/or better? Should I keep it?

As far as I know there are few songs that weren’t on original. Few forgotten pieces are there and some other music as well.

some recordings i like better on the CEA soundtrack because of a bigger and better orchestra

but there is not much difference except for the music that’s not done by orchestra that’s mostly new or variation on the original

i say keep it ( but you can always check it on youtube if you like it or not )

> Do you know what’s different?

It’s completely retranscribed and rerecorded, using different instrumentation than the original (in particular, using a full live orchestra where the original used a great deal of synth).

In other words, it’s totally different soundtrack.

> Should I keep it?

Why would you get rid of it?

Cool, thanks for all the info. I’m going to listen to it tomorrow!

> Why would you get rid of it?

I hadn’t opened it yet, so I could have still returned it.

I really feel this game was so well redone.

343i could have easily screwed up one of the best games of all time, but I think they took the best parts of Halo and made them even better including the soundtrack. I have fallen in love again from the visuals to the SFX to the terminals to the music.

I have all faith in 343i in the future of Halo right now.

Even though this is late but when i heard the Anniversary soundtrack, yes their were some songs that where not on the original, however, when i hear certain songs in-game (remastered ver.) and compare to the soundtrack disc itself, the in-game music sounds like theirs a mix to it. If you listen to First Step in-game and listen to it on the CD, the in-game sounds different.

Whoever mastered the CD is a person. Probably the same person who butchered the Star Wars soundtracks. Because it sounds exactly the same, tinny and flat.

EDIT: It seems a much worse word filters to “person”.

Most of the songs are remastered.
