Question about shields?

Why is the shield weaker at the head? You would think that the shield would have equal protection on all body parts. Instead you shoot a shielded spartan in the head and he loses shields faster than if you were shooting him anywhere else.

There is no headshot bonus for anything other than the Sniper in Reach, correct me if I am wrong?

well you can kinda compare it to modern combat if you get shot in the head with a helmet on whats going to happen. your still going to die or be in critical condition. but say to get shot in the body your chances of survival are greatly increased since your body has the vest to travel through but then it must travel through your skin, fat and organs. its amazing that your organs can survive with a bullet in them

No you’re right. The shield protects all equally. Except when the attack is strong enough to pierce right through.

The visor is needed to see through and in canon terms, isn’t the strongest material.

Using a dmr, if you shoot a fully shielded spartan in the head, his shields go down faster than if you shot him anywhere else. Also needle rifle and pistol.

No that’s wrong, headshots with a sniper does matter but other precision’s don’t make a difference. I’ve tested this many times in customs etc and it doesn’t make a difference. From leg shots to chest shots arms etc. All same amount of damage to break the shield.

After that point ( when firing vs health) then headshots will make a difference.

Yeah theres no bonus other than with sniper. I mean, it’s obvious that if you’re no shields a bullet to the brain will kill you rather than a shot to the knee.
