I wanted to know if I was able to rent Halo: Nightfall to get the nightfall armor, if that’s not the case guess I wasted 5 dollars.
I haven’t seen this question asked, I wouldn’t know if this would even be possible.
I think the window for it has closed but if you already purchased it watch it on the Halo channel from your Xbox one and see it it unlocks. I thought Nightfall was pretty good watch IMO. Makes we wish that Halo TV series they were supposed to do actually happens.

You don’t need to buy the series to get the armor; you can get it straight from the REQ system through Gold Packs.

I don’t think this is true, I have a friend who has finally unlocked everything that is obtainable through normal Req packs and Nightfall is among the Reqs he has yet to unlock.

…then how can you explain that I got personally got Nightfall through Gold Packs back in the summer?

On a serious note maybe it’s just a glitch as this has happened with the 343 skins and with Protector Stalwart.
If you download the halo channel app on xbox, computer or phone, you can watch it for free and get the armour.
i will link my description here. Check it out. I wrote this as I grew tiresome of people asking the same question.
You can 100% get the Nightfall armor through Req packs. Just like you can get Helioskrill through them now too, although I had that one already at launch.
You can also watch it episodically on the Halo Channel…that’s what I did a few months ago. I even set it to fast-forward through each episode and I got it.

That no longer works.
When attempting to play Nightfall, it sends me to “Marketplace” to buy it (even though I already bought it) but then it says it doesn’t exist.
I have no idea but you can get it via req pack too
