Who thinks it’s a good idea to not include someones K/D spread on their profile? People seem to be obsessed with their stats and they judge others a lot by viewing them before the game starts. At least you should be able to hide it or just make it like Halo 2 and 3 where people actually tried to win objective games instead of caring about how many kills they got that deaths?
sigh
most wish it were simple like that
if you get rid of/hide KDR, the “MLG pro’s” will complain about the game
if we keep it, the “MLG pro’s” will stat flame
it’s best if we keep it to make everyone happy
after all, you can just ignore them
if people are going to make assumptions about your gaming based on a simple number, they are obviously spending too much of their time in the game itself
I don’t think any part of the stats should be hidden. People shouldn’t comment about anyone’s KD Ratio. It’s quite silly. Just ignore those people. Again, I don’t think you should be able to hide a part of your stats, it’s interesting to see information about other players.
I like to play competitively and I spend my time in the Team Slayer playlist where K/D is a huge identifier of skill.
Just make K/D playlist respected or no K/D in Objective based playlists, just W/L.
But don’t get rid of K/D cause certain kids get embarrassed.
Stats shouldn’t be hidden. Most reasonable and mature people don’t care about what others think of their statistics on a video game.
I agree with you about Win/loss. I think that is a good stat to have and maybe the level system like Halo 2 would be good too. You should be able to view K/d online only like in Halo 2 and 3. If people care that much they can look on there.
It would help, but the real reason it was that bad in reach was because you got rewarded more for kills than you did for objectives.
and by that I mean, it was more beneficial to just kill the other team and not capture the objective since you would get more cr, and wins/losses didn’t mean anything so there was no incentive for people to play the objective.
Another reason why a proper true skill or 1-50 NEEDS to return to make H4 an online success.
I would love the option to be able to show
kd
w/l
exp
per playlist
Highest Ranked skill in different playlists
Spartan ops record for those who would only play that
In a nutshell be able to show or hide anything from your career in your service Record …
I don’t think MLG is that bothered about k/d as some people seem to think they are, they’re more concerned with win/loss ratio, which should be a more important factor for a team. As for MLG pros, they aren’t going to care about k/d at all compared to the w/l, because apart from Slayer gametypes, that isn’t going to win them 100k.
I personally agree that it shouldn’t be shown on the service record, it should be reserved for site stats and Halotracker. Halo 3 only had w/l, which at the time was a more important factor since most people went in as a team, you see a group of people with exactly the same (good) w/l rate, it’s more intimidating than the guy with the high k/d.
You can easily pad stats with k/d, but not with ranked w/l, at least until double xp weekends started doing ranked playlists. There is also the possibility of certain specific cheats to pad your w/l stats and rank boost, but they were few and far between and rarely successful to the level where you could make your stats insane.
I like to see myself improve. Why do you care if others feel the need to obsess about their own business. If it bothers you that much mute them.

The MLG Pro’s would want Win/Loss , you are now judging a group of people because you think that they judge you.
irony is such a beautiful thing.
As long as I have my personal stats for my reference I don’t care. If the ranking system was ever perfect most people would be just above or below 1.0 anyways. K/D would only be relevant for the small minority of players significantly above or below a 1.0.
I would want it hidden just because I have a friend who obsesses over his and if he goes down by a point he freaks out and it’s annoying. I prefer the way Halo 3 did it where it was just on the website.
There should be no in game stats, leave it all to the website.
Yeah, I have 100 in BPR and im afraid it’ll go down
But that wouldn’t happen
Without 1-50 we need a way to find out how good the other team is… The Reach ranks dont mean anything
No. I want to see how my teammates and opponents stack up for that match. Reach in-game stats were a good idea.
