Question about joining sessions in progress

I don’t know if 343i has gone into specific detail about this change but I was just wondering:

When we join a match in progress does the result get added to our W/L record?

If this was already explained in a bulletin or podcast I’d be very grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.

You can either join a match or wait to start a new match. Just a rumor I heard around these here internetz.

Okay, but does joining an active session alter our W/L record at all?

I would assume it does. You are joining a match that ends up in you either winning or losing right?

A better question is “Does quitting affect your w/l?”.

True, but my concern is receiving a win or a loss that I didn’t earn because I wasn’t even part of the equation. If I join a match that’s halfway finished, I don’t think it should count for -Yoink- on my record.

I don’t want to join a winning team and the match finishes like 3 kills after my arrival. That situation just screams “Congradulations! This counts as a victory so have a win added even though you were only here for like 15 seconds and you didn’t have time to be relevant. Keep up the good work, soldier!!”

Also, I’m not too fond of joining a losing team that’s behind by a significant margin only to have a loss added to my record.

As for quitting, I assume that it does add a loss to your record.

Then don’t join a game in progress.

I just want to know whether or not they count.

If they do count towards W/L and I have the option to not join matches in progress (which is a rumor according to you), I’ll simply opt for not joining matches in progress.

If they don’t count towards W/L, I can comfortably not give a crap about joining a match in progress.

At the end of the match, you win or you lose. Whether it be j.i.p or a new match. So obvious is obvious

Well, thanks for the input anyway.

I can’t seem to find an actual definitive answer to my question anywhere. I’ll probably have wait till release to find out.

Why wouldn’t it count. Whether you join in or wait for a fresh game, the game will count if you win or not.

Yeah, I can’t think of any reason it wouldn’t count. If you don’t want to risk your precious W/L ratio, don’t join a game in progress. Otherwise, go nuts.

All this guy wants to know is if joining a match midway will still count towards his win/loss stats. It’s a reasonable question, why are you having a go at him?

But on-topic, I haven’t heard anything about it so sorry, I don’t know.

The only thing we know about JiP is that it is not available on all playlists.

Besides that, we don’t know jack squat.

Odds are, yes, it will count. You are in a match with a team that holds a specific position in the score. Your score is shared with the rest of the team. If your team your on wins, then you get the win count. If they lose, you get the loss count.

Simple as that.

It’ll suck to join a losing fight, but its all to counter the disadvantage of being outnumbered due to quitters by letting people jump into matches that are already in progress.

Who cares? Oh noes not your W/L ratio! I hear you can’t get into a good college with a bad one!
