Question about Infinite and Xbox live gold

Ok, so there’s something that’s been bothering me ever since Infinite was announced to be free to play. So you all probably know that Microsoft recently announce that Free to play multiplayer games would not require Xbox live gold to play online for. Halo Infinite will be free to play, but the campaign won’t, which makes me confuse on how is this gonna work. Will you not need gold to play multiplayer? Will you need it? Will you not need to have Xbox live gold to play multiplayer, but you will, if you buy the full game? Will Multiplayer not require gold but campaign co-op will? I’m really confused on how this will work, and chances are, since the full game is shown as a DLC on the store, it will probably not be as confusing as I’m making it out to be, I would appreciate some confirmation.

All free to play multiplayer games will not require Xbox Live Gold Memberships. Halo Infinite’s online multiplayer won’t require you to have a Gold Membership.

The campaign is not a free multiplayer game. Co op won’t be available until about 3 months after launch. Co Op probably won’t require a Gold Membership but it’s hard to say for certain.

To be honest most people have Gold or a GamePass/GamePass Ultimate subscription anyway which negates the problem all together.
I imagine the user base of Xbox Live/Xbox Network that doesn’t have a online subscription is probably very small.
