Question about halo ce and reach compatability

ok so im considering getting halo anniversary and ive been looking searching the internet on whether or not the HALO anniversary multiplayer is capable to play with the halo reach multiplayer. I have been in to GAME and GAMESTATION and asked but they didn’t know either. im wanting to know this because my girlfriend has reach and is not getting HALO anniversary so im curious as to whether or not i will be able to play with her using anniversary as my reach disk has been stolen by family. so if anyone can give me an answer it would be much appreciated.

Both are Reach multiplayer. Anniversary only allows you to play the Anniversary maps. Reach only comes with the Reach maps, and will only let you play Anniversary maps if you have also downloaded the Anniversary map pack to your hard drive (which means either buying Anniversary or the map pack).

So if you can’t use Reach, and your girlfriend only has normal Reach and does not have the Anniversary maps, you won’t be able to play together because your map sets are disjoint.

True, but here how it could work. @CursedDragon, get Halo Anniversary brand new. It comes with the Reach Anniversary Map Pack code for free. Give that code to your girlfriend (don’t worry, you can still access the maps on the Anniversary disc), and then after she installs the map pack you two can play online together. I hope that helps.
