Question about CE and Console

I was curious as to what I’m missing if anything from getting the console and not the LE? I work for best buy and I have saved up a lot of point through our reward system so I shouldn’t have to spend a penny on the xbox its self. But at the same time I don’t want to spend the money on LE if I get pretty much everything in that as well.

Console:

Sounds from the Halo 4 game play when you start up the console and when you push the Eject button. The console runs whisper quiet, letting you play games and watch movies without interference. Easily connect to Xbox LIVE, play with friends all over the world and experience a world of entertainment.

Two Customized Xbox 360 Wireless Controllers: This award-winning, high performance wireless controller features the Xbox Guide Button for quick, in-game access to friends and music. It has a range of up to 30 feet and comes with a rotating D-pad and blue LED lights.

Halo 4 Standard Edition Game: Enjoy the Halo experience with the Halo 4 game. Included in this bundle is the Standard Edition of the game to play as soon as you get home.

Largest Hard Drive Available: The Limited Edition console comes with a 320GB hard drive, the largest hard drive available for Xbox 360, allowing for more game add-ons, more downloads and more space to store all your entertainment.

Xbox 360 Black Headset: Chat with friends on Xbox LIVE, or team up and jump in with multiplayer game play.

Custom Content: Receive a token for downloadable Halo 4 content to enhance your gaming experience.

Built-in Wi-Fi: The Xbox 360 is the only console with 802.11n Wi-Fi built-in for a faster and easier connection to Xbox LIVE. Stream HD movies and TV or download games from Xbox LIVE in 1080p and 5.1 surround sound from anywhere in the house. Compatible with b/g/n networks.

Xbox LIVE: Xbox LIVE brings a world of entertainment to you. Instantly stream movies and TV from Netflix in crystal-clear HD, or download game add-ons like new levels, characters, maps and songs. Easily jump right into online multiplayer fun and play along with friends around the world. Plus, get your favorite music from Last.fm, connect with friends on Facebook® and post Tweets on Twitter. Xbox LIVE is your connection to more games, entertainment and fun.

It just doesn’t go into great detail as to what the CUSTOM CONTENT is in this…

LE:
The game disc in a steel facade case with a stenciled UNSC device on it.
War Games Map Pack; nine maps that will be included in a future DLC.
Instant access to all 8 Specializations.
UNSC Infinity Briefing Packet including MJOLNIR armor schematics, weapon information and a layout of the indoctrination of the SPARTAN-IVs.
The 90-minute extended edition of the ViDoc, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn.
Exclusive Assault Rifle Prime weapon skin.
Bonus in-fiction content providing backstory on characters and stories in Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn.
The Making of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn.
Special Featurette: Bringing Gaming to Reality.
Recruit Armor
Spartan Prime Skin
Spartan Prime Emblem
Cryo-Chamber Avatar prop[2]
Avatar Spartan Recruit Armor[3]

So I guess what I really want to know is do I not get all the future map packs with the console? or the Instant access to all 8 specializations, as well as all the other game content?

Any advice would be nice. I am prepared to get both should I need to. I am a huge halo fan and have been since its launch in Nov. of 2001!

What do you mean by CE? I thought it was called the LE.

Right, I was telling someone about this on an earlier thread. When I went and preordered Halo 4, 2 employees at the store told me:

The Console comes with all the DIGITAL content (DLC etc) that the LE comes with, but none of the PHYSICAL content (Spartan briefing pack, steel case etc.)

Also, LE = Recruit Armour. Console = FOTUS armour. Up to you which one you prefer

In terms of access to 6 specialisations, I assume it would come with the console as it’s DLC and that’s just logical business (it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t because you have to level up any ways before you can use them. I don’t really see the point in early access myself.)

For the same reason, I’m also sure that the map packs will come with it too. If it doesn’t, then you can purchase them from the xbox live marketplace for $25 on the day. That’s not a lot of money for “a huge halo fan” who is willing to buy both the LE and Console.

Hope this helps

> No with the console you wont get the map pack pass or the early access to the spec. classes.
>
> If you just buy the console sell the game that comes with it and buy the map pack pass.

> The spec. classes are end game content and you have to be max rank to use so its not all the important.

So I should plan getting both I guess. Thank you!

Only get both if you want the: Steel case, Spartan Briefing Pack, Bonus FUD footage AND Recruit/Prime DLC.

The console is damn fine
