Question about Brutes and San'Shyuum

What are these two species during the events of Halo 4?

Also another question or two about the San’Shyuum, I know they had an alliance with the Ancient Humans, but do they still have a large population (millions, hundred millions, etc.)? Or were the Prophets pretty much all that was left of their race?

Last question, do all the San’Shyuum float around in those hover chair looking things?

  1. The Brutes who still live are in conflict with the Sangheili and engaged in a civil war amongst the various Brutes clans.

  2. The population of the San 'Shyuum is said to be no more than 1000.

  3. Not all get gravity thrones. There are anti-gravity belts.

> 2. The population of the San 'Shyuum is said to be no more than 1000.

I’m pretty sure thats only the Prophets who left their homeworld in the Forerunner Dreadnaught.

It is however, unknown what happened to the prophets who remained on their homeworld, other than they really didnt like those that eventually left.

This guy is correct.

That could be right, but I got that number from The Return, a short story set in 2559.

That’s what we have to go on. Not many left, and any found are exterminated. I’d always figured after they formed the covenant the prophets could have gone back to their homeworld and taken over those left behind, but that doesn’t mesh with the eugenics controls that had Truth pretending to be father to some newborns.

So is Janjur Qom still out there, full of san 'shyuum that are conservatives like the elites?

A supernova destroyed it.

Pretty much, and thats why they are all ugly and frail, the tiny population inbred and the beautiful genes they had were destroyed over time.

That’s what the San’Shyuum say, but if you read the Bestarium (and I know YOU read the Bestarium) it hints that might not be the truth.

True, but thus far we know of TWO “catastrophic events” that rocked their homeworld, the Halo and the supernova.

They did? Every time I learn more about the Halo universe the more stale and ridiculous it gets. I really don’t see the why they needed to add advanced ancient humans, san shumm’s and these alliances they once had into the lore.

Having Forerunners and Precursors the only advanced beings in the ancient stage was just fine. And it was a good addition adding precursors in because it gave the forerunners more to work with in the lore. But now humans were there, san shyumm’s were also there, it’s just spoiling it now. I really don’t think I’ll be getting the books. The halo universe has become a cluttered mess its far too much now.

Why is the idea of ancient humans with a galactic empire bad? There is millions of years of Halo backstory, to imply only the Forerunners and Precursors had power is absurd in the same way to imply only Rome was the biggest empire in the world in history.

*Allegedly

True, though I believe the Bestarium mentioned that assuming the San’Shyuum were telling the truth about the supernova.

Personally, I think that part in the San’Shyuum Bestarium entry was put there on purpose for plot purposes. I bet the San’Shyuum homeplanet is still out there.
