Question about browsing on mobile.

I browse and interact with the Waypoint forums quite a bit when I’m at work.

My question is why on some phones does the ability to hyperlink or user link appear when the phone turned to landscape mode, but on others it isn’t present?

For example, my phone is an iPhone 5s. Whenever I am typing a comment, such as this one, and I turn my phone sideways, the options to hyperlink and such do not appear.

However I logged into Waypoint on a friend’s iPhone 6 to see if there was a difference, because I had heard it was possible on these phones before. I turned the phone sideways and sure enough the extra comment options were there when they were absent from my phone.

I was just wondering if somebody could explain to me why this is? Is it because of the greater screen size? At first I thought mobile browsing just lacked the ability to do these extra things but now that I know it is possible I see it must be linked to the phone or something.

Also, if someone knows how to link things even though the option isn’t present, I would greatly appreciate knowing that.

Right now the mobile browsing experience on Waypoint is extremely variable. I’m not sure of the reasoning behind various phones showing options differently, though I suspect that screen size and unique browser rendering have something to do with it.

Use the source code [(url=)]Link Text [(/**url)]**.

*Do not use the parentheses.

Thanks for the code!

Is there a way I can make it so a sentence I type is a hyperlink?

For instance someway I could make it so the word “Test” is clickable and follows the above link?

Yes. Just put what you want it to say in the “Link Text” portion between both sets of brackets.

I think I’m doing something wrong :-/

Where do I put the URL then? I appreciate you taking the time to help me.

You only have to put the web address after the (=). It’s just (/url) in the second bracket after the text.

[(url=www.web.com)]Link Text [(/url)].
