So we’re going to have Blue Team around whenever we play as Chief, obviously. Does this mean that we’ll hear Chief being addressed more by his actual name? Or does Blue Team still call him Master Chief?
Chief will probably address the rest of his team by their first names so they will probably do the same for him right?
Kelly might slip a “John” from time to time (since she is the least formal member of Blue Team) but I think for the most part they’ll just adress his as “Chief”.
As other people here have said, I expect that they’ll mostly call him “Chief” but slip in a “John” from time to time (most likely during more personal conversations or cutscenes). This is the pattern they tend to follow throughout the books. Though in the Chief’s case, I have a feeling he’ll call the others by their first names pretty much the whole time - simply because it would probably confuse players who are unfamiliar with the team’s structure and history as to which one is Blue-Two, Three, etc.
I’m hoping for more “John’s” than “Chiefs”, mainly because it will push the idea that they KNOW him. Most people who meet chief see him as a freak hero or anomaly, but spartan 2’s live his life, they are him essentially. They have done other crazy things in their own crazy fights in their own crazy adventures. Their respect doesn’t come from their acts of heroism selflessness or following orders. Their respect comes from being brothers and sisters.
Using “John” would probably used more at times when the story gets sentimental or when there is a exhilarating event occurring in the campaign. Besides that, I think “Chief” will be used by Blue Team.
I forsee Locke calling him John durring their showdown. Like “why’d you do it john” or “why are you running john” and im already pissed off about it lol
