Question about Backend Tuning

Does this work with vehicles as well? Vehicle health, properties, and damage? I mostly ask because the one thing I personally am really rooting for as far as sandbox adjustments is turning vehicles back into centers of alternating strategy and importance, not just another power weapon that you have for one life.

Since I’m no expert on programming technicalities or multiplayer design, does this addition of Backend Tuning support vehicle modification outside of just the weapon strength/properties of the vehicle’s offensive capabilities?

It can be done in game-types. Although the game type it self would have to be edited much like Fiesta is.

If you notice in Fiesta you start at 5 points, so that the system can give you your first ordnance straight out.

To edit the values of the objects on map there would have to be either something placed in the game-types code to change the value from the default at the the start of each game.

Whether this can be done through their ‘update’ remains to be seen however as for through game-types it is possible.

Thanks for the answer!

Now since this suggests we could use some help from 343i… Please answer, guys? ;-; This would be a great thread to hit up! You know you want to!

I want vehicles turned back into the powerhouses they were in Halo 3, seeing as they are severly underpowered in Halo 4; especially the Warthog. Hopefully they can tweak the vehicles via backend tuning the way they can with weapons, because I was really hoping for a vehicle buff in this update…

That is precisely why I ask! I’m not one of those players who wants the original trilogy in carbon copy, but I’d still love to have vehicles as strategical powerhouses, not just a power weapon.

So it’s very important to me if Backend Tuning allows them to do this!
