Question about ADS

Will firing like you used to in other halo games, technically from the hip and or not aiming down the sites be the same as ADS or will ADS have advantages? I just want to know how it works.

Another thing, I am tired of all the complaining on these forums, if someone changes something there has to be massive drama around it and world war 3.

ADS has been confirmed to decrease spread on weapons. Meaning there’s an advantage to aim, but there’s no movement penalty.

Sorry to tell you but people have different opinions regarding all kinds of subjects, that’s why there will be complaining, if you dislike it you ignore it.

I have heard of the smart scope, however I thought that was something completely seperate only for things that have a scope, such as a sniper or dmr or beam rifle. So it’s the same? Good to know. Other question I have is if you do not smartscope is it the same accuracy as halo 2’s br or any other halo game where it doesn’t have smart scope, and if you do smartscope it improves the accuracy even more? Or is it by default less accurate until you smart scope.

Smart Scope functions, more or less, like zoom from past Halos. Just with a different visual touch and decreased spread for automatic/burst weapons. Though the decrease in spread while zoomed/Smart Scoped could be argued to have worked in a similar fashion in past titles as well. Especially when looking at the BR and ODST’s/H2A’s Silenced SMG. And just like old zoom, when shot using Smart Scope, you can get descoped.

Hip fire is still as viable and accurate as it always has been in the past, so no need to worry there.

There is no difference between Zoom (Halo 1-4), and Smart scope (Halo 5) in terms of functionality. You press a button, your accuracy increases and allows you to shoot From far away. Get shot while using it and you will be kicked out of your scope.

There was a glitch in the beta that allowed the default controls (zoom on left trigger) allowing players to go back into scope immediately while you press on the left trigger, but that will be fixed for release.

The usual playstyle is the same. You can shoot while moving with a BR, DMR, AR, Magnum, whatever, and not be penalized for shooting at the hip.

I didn’t like how much the smart scope mechanic reduced bullet spread in the beta. The main culprit was the AR. I can understand buffing the weapon in terms of damage, but a short-to-medium range weapon should NOT be able to ping players across the map. On Truth, I was able to shoot a player to no shields who was Car 2 while I was in Pink Tower, and it only took a few seconds. That just shouldn’t happen. The AR should stay within its intended range. I’m not suggesting to make the AR a useless starting weapon again - it just shouldn’t have the capability of reaching across the map via smart scope.
