When we transfer our LIVE accounts from the 360 to the One, will it have to stay there forever? Could we go back and forth from the 360 to the One? The reason I ask is because I never had an account on the original Xbox so I do not know if you could or could not do this kind of stuff before. Thanks.
I doubt that. There is no way in hell I’d pay for two accounts on two systems. I don’t think they’ll do that because we’re gonna want to play the old Halos too every once in a while. Just a guess.
From what Microsoft has said up to this point, yes you can switch your Xbox 360 Xbox Live account to the Xbox One, and switch it back to the Xbox 360.
Your current Xbox 360 account is from what Microsoft has said to this point completely transferable between the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
This is I think still subject to change if Microsoft decides to change it, hopefully it will be set in stone at Gamescom.
Edit = Here is a direct source with the information . .

I’m curious about if you get Gold on the Xbox One will Gold be on your account on the 360
From what it say’s on Xbox Wire I would think it would, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t.
Microsoft might want to have 2 different (revenue stream’s), hopefully Microsoft will make everything clear at Gamescom, then again they might hold off till PAX.
It still uses xbox live so yes all it is, is an updated console hardware. Xbox live still stands and saying no this microsoft would of had to answer to people on windows live on the PC (they use the same account as xbox live)
> If you are an Xbox Live Gold member today, you are already set for Xbox One. Your Xbox Live Gold membership for Xbox 360 will seamlessly become an Xbox Live Gold account on your Xbox One and you will be able to enjoy Xbox Live Gold features on either console. You can even be logged in to Xbox 360 and Xbox One at the same time.
And your 360 can plug into the X1 via the the HDMI-in port and be the “TV”.
