Some things I’d like to see with halo Infinite that I haven’t seen too many people saying. Mostly for Console.
-Field of view slider(adjustable fov)
-More in depth graphic settings upgraded consoles.
-Cleaner UI with less “glitchy” menus. (Halo 5 can be finicky sometimes)
-‘Simple forge mode’. Halo 5 forge is gr8 but it can daunting for people who wanna get into it.
These are just a few things I’d like to see. Feel free to add anything you don’t think gets enough attention.
What do you mean by a simple forge mode exactly? Easier to use, yes I would absolutely agree with that. After using Halo 5 forge on xbox and then pc, it almost felt like i was learning a completely different game but at the same time a more complex forge gives a creator more abilities and customization options. Like simple makes me think of Halo 3 forge but at the same time most of the really good forge maps for custom games on H3 were made using tricks and bugs to help. But now with Halo 5 you can make incredibly more complex maps that do much more.

Everything else you said though was spot on and should absolutely be added. FOV sliders shouldn’t be just a PC thing in my opinion
I think the req system should be replaced by a credit system.

This is something i’ve been talking alot about with my mates lately: cR system to replace REQ points, for both making it feel more familiar again, making it more canon AND making it so that you choose what specific REQs you wanna purchase.
Oni Scorpion? Hows about them 20.000 cR?
Hannibal? Fear not, noble price of 50.000 cR!
And lets not talk about the 75 billion warthog variants…
Minimal loading times, can’t stress enough. Quality of life equals pressing a button and almost instantly playing the activity you want. Are there any more satisfying things than that?

Personally I think Halo: Reach’s Forge system was fantastic! The ability to lock things in the air was introduced there and it made forging so nice to use. Halo 5’s forge, while advanced and still rather simple to understand after much use; can make forge a chore for some people who just want to go in and build something when they see the list of commands and button actions on the side of their screen taking up literally an entire corner of their tele/monitor.
Being able to swap between a Halo: Reach style forge and Halo 5’s forge at will would be nice. This way you can forge just like you used to, but if you need that extra little oomf in your build, it’s there for you to swap to.

Sorta what I was eluding to when I said less glitchy menus. Halo 5 can be annoying.
I would love a FOV setting. I only play console so I didn’t realize how much it can change until I played SoT and now Apex.

That would be a cool idea! Like how in forge you can hold a button to switch between forge mode and player mode maybe you could do something similar and swap between standard forge and advanced forge. I doubt that’d happen but it’d be awesome

It’s a great thing, I use it in Doom on the Xbox, I wish the MCC had it, all games should have a FoV slider in the settings imo.

Forgot DOOM had it too
absolutely agree with fov slider, do not agree at all with simple forge. I’d rather just add a tutorial mode for forge than risk losing any features that have made halo 5’s forge an almost limitless way of making maps. honestly when it comes to halo 5’s forge the only thing that I’d say that made it too complicated was the control changes. you can still make decent maps by just placing stuff and without all the fancy features like scripting. it’d help if they added buildings back in though, I’m still confused as to why we don’t have buildings like every other forge before it.

choosing specifc reqs sounds like an awful idea. at that point it would be more pay to win than halo 5. and even if real money isn’t involved there are a number of issues it creates. first of all there will be WAY more overpowered reqs on the field because everyone will be saving up for the same like 5 different reqs. you load in a warzone match and it’s nothing but nornfangs and hannibal vehicles. it’d also be impossible for anyone who doesn’t buy and start playing within the first month, maybe only a couple weeks of release to win or enjoy the game at all because of all the op equipment everywhere that just slaughters them. that not only would discourage people from playing req based gamemodes all together but it’d be impossible for newbies to build up their own req arsenal if they keep doing poorly due to everyone else in the game already being stocked up and using reqs they’ve already earned to earn points faster. I’d either leave it randomized or not have it at all. only thing that shouldn’t be random are permanent reqs.

I think they might do something like that. But Credits might still be called req points, but function as from reach.
A more accessible Forge Mode is an absolute must. H5 gives the user a lot of power, but it isn’t at all user-friendly to navigate using a controller. Reimagining menus is a good move too, although I worry that it’s possible that something even worse than what we’re dealing with in Halo 5 might come of that.
I think the answer to both of these problems can be found in previous Halo games to a large extent. Reach, for example, had really a really great balance between accessible Forge controls and a lot of user capability. I think both Halo 3 and Reach had very tolerable menu structures as well, particularly better than Halo 5 in multiplayer lobbies.
I see a lot people talking about the complexity of Halo 5’s forge. I know some of my friends are put off by it, but are you referring to the control scheme or the actual complexity? Switching up control schemes I imagine would be somewhat easy with controller mapping (maybe some people want the more familiar Reach controls). But after practicing in Halo 5’s forge a lot, it really isn’t drastically different from Reach’s forge. Sure there is a difference of controls, visuals, and the UI mumbo jumbo on the screen, but the core premise is still the same. The object physics setting, magnets, rotation, spawning, weapon and vehicle placement, many things are still recognizable even from Reach itself (imo). There’s just more nuance and precision to many of these settings and actions and a (admittedly confusing at first) control scheme and handling.
Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate that Halo 5’s Forge is daunting for some and coming off of Reach/4/H2A can feel very alien. I would love to see maybe some tutorial’s and simplification/optimization to make it easier for users to access and utilize. But at the same time, the mechanics and map editing of the Forge is possibly the best it has ever been in both convenience (Map based XYZ axis, rotation axis, very specific object snap movement, more diverse budgeting) and sheer power (blocks, lighting, effects, textures, scripting, etc). I want to build off of that and/or retain as much of that as possible. Reach forge might be easier to recognize and access, but at the end of the day it sometimes leaves much to be desired, whereas in Halo 5 I find fewer constraints and much more diverse object textures and designs for better map designs.
Sorry about the long text, I’m just passionate about forging and can’t wait to see its evolution in the next Halo game. I do hope they can find a way to make it more accessible for everyone.
And I agree about the FoV slider. More games on console should have it.
Feel free to use any of the existing wish list threads for this, thanks
