Quality of Life lmprovements for Challenges

Hi all. Me again with another post motivated by the fact I can’t complete challenges! :upside_down_face:

The capstone challenge for this week’s ultimate reward is to get a killing spree, which will be very difficult for some (I know I’m struggling), and there is no trick or knack to doing it, you either have to get lucky or have reasonable skill.

I was playing COD MWII earlier (a sin, I know) and realised that, once I had completed my three main daily challenges, it automatically allowed me to start progress on my final, bonus daily challenge in that same match.

However, I have noticed that this isn’t the case in Infinite. I just finished all my weekly challenges in a BTB match, then went on to get a killing spree in the same match, however, the ultimate challenge didn’t pop, as it doesn’t activate until after you finish the match in which you complete all your other weekly challenges.

I now face an uphill struggle to get another killing spree, as I don’t get them with that much frequency, whereas, if it worked like COD, I would have got it in the same match. I feel like this is one of the few things that could be taken from COD and improve Infinite!

What do you guys think? Do you think this would be a decent QOL improvement? Would it be difficult for 343 to implement? Anyway, back to the grindstone for that killing spree!

That does suck.

I think if they had more challenges that could work, but as it is, I already fly through them. I didn’t even realize that I had got to the Ultimate challenge last week after six matches or something like that.

Have you tried Fiesta? Spawning with rockets can go a long way towards a killing spree. Maybe you’ll even grab a scorpion.

An easy way to get Killing Spree is play BTB and be more of a supporting teammate then one focusing on getting tons of kills. Be sure to use weapons that headshot easily so you get credit for kills though. Let others draw attention and then help them kill the targets behind them so you don’t take damage. With so many people to work with you should find plenty of people that will not only draw their attention, but also keep people from flanking and what not.

I find that if you get good with Ghosts and place it safe, it’s not to hard to rack up kills in those fairly quickly either. Oh rush people you know you will splatter, other wise gun them all down at a safe distance, more so with teammates around you who can support you.

As for the request to have tasks open up if you complete others… Eh… I don’t see how it’d hurt honestly I guess. I don’t feel it’d really add much though, since you’ll probably be burning through these challenges enough already, and you have waaay plenty of time to finish the last one if that’s all you have left.

The current design was mostly motivated by luring people into buying Battle Passes for that extra challenge slot. It is what it is and I wouldn’t expect to it to change anytime soon, if ever, ideally you would want a bunch of (different) challenges, like a dozen or so, which can be progressed simultaneously, and in real time in case of server disconnection, game crashing or even just a simple ragequit. It’s just one of the many many things that are, supposedly, so obvious and logical and other games luke the mentioned CoD do exactly, but you can only dream about when ot comes to Halo, as the hame desperately tries to differentiate itself from all those other games out there at any possible aspect, even the ones that work flawless and shouldn’t be touched/changed

MCC has a great challenge implementation - tracking occurs in real time and are clearly all laid out ahead of time. It’s like 343 forgets they own both games.

Its so weird how MMC can succeed in these types of areas so well now but infinite, the game 343 puts 95% of its time and effort in, doesnt have good challenge design,
