Same here, back in Halo 2 you couldn’t pay people to shut for one second to let another know our flag was gone. Now it’s the total opposite. I know party chat has a lot to do with it and Discord as well but, my goodness, I almost fall out my chair today when someone else responded toy call outs and it was two people at that!!
I almost miss being called every name in the book before a shot is even fired in a game lobby compared to the dead silence
Yeah that’s a good point. Maybe Objective Quick Play and Slayer Quick Play would help then. But yeah I’ve just given up trying for the objective on 4v4, it’s too stressful making run after run at the flag and not having anyone there to cover me while I bring it home.
lol at first I was like the F is a power seed, then I quickly caught on as to what I was supposed to do. As for these other ppl. They woke up and chose violence…
I can agree that it needs a lot of work but peronally I dislike Total control even more. Stock pile needs to reset power seeds once a team reaches full power. I go to an area and abuse the fact that I can chuck seed after seed to my team mates and we win fast asf.
Stockpile can be a frustrating game type for sure. Not understanding or having info about the flow of the game obviously leaves people at a disadvantage. This is a game type where groups of coordinating people will smoke a group of randoms. I see this game type being very deep in strategies as I have seen people load up vehicles to steal the entire spawn of seeds to people using an assembly line of Teammates chucking them to one another back to the base.
This is 100% the go to move. First person there, just start chucking as many as you can back towards your base.
Overall though, I’m not surprised so many people aren’t grabbing the seeds at all. Players not going after the objective has been a long time problem in the series and isn’t just a specific mode or even Infinite thing.
If you could.split objective and slayer, you will still have loads of people in objective that don’t contribute anything. But.pelase don’t forget killing the enemy is equally as important as completing the objective.
There was a guy trash talking all game in CTF because he was “the only one going for the flag”. He had 0 kills, the irony of him thinking the team was doing a bad job when he was pulling the flag while the whole enemy team was alive and around him. What a waste of camo.
A lot of the time.people.will.be helping the objective but players can’t see that, especially if the player is trying and failing. Sometimes a player will try to assist you and die and you think they’re doing nothing but their intention was to help.
Also challenges aren’t making people not help the win, if anything most challenges help people contribute.
Facts thats why I want 343i to give us proper playlists with the ability to vote on maps and gametypes. In older Halos It was rare for me to play objective based gamemodes by myself. Most of the time when solo I selected slayer because playing objective with randoms has always been a pain.
Woah woah woah, Total Control is the closest thing to comp BTB we’re going to get with default game modes. You have to push and balance out who’s going where if you want to win (when matchmaking doesn’t eat -Yoink!-)
Stockpile is basically Space Football, another one where communication is key.
The major thing here is people are afraid to talk and maybe a more robust ping system would help, but again I’m not a fan of enabling people vs kinda beating them up until they learn basic skills
Yes, I know not everyone can afford a decent mic and XBL has too many people blasting music/arguing with their wife while hot mic’d, so it’s careful what you wish for lol
343 could fix this and SHOULD fix this by allowing us to simply queue up for BTB slayer only. Or arena slayer only. No reason these playlists should be unavailable and have people forced into game modes they simply don’t want to play.
I would much prefer a “Objective Quick play” playlist and then a “Slayer Quick play” playlist. I feel like this would fix alot of problems. At least if the challenge system doesn’t keep encouraging people to ignore the objective.
or people could like use their brain to think and at least kinda try and play OBJ. It’s really not that hard and especially today I’ve seen even more people devoid of basic critical thinking… -_-
god forbid you like hang around the seeds, flag, etc.
Then again, OW had people complaining about a loss when they spent the entire match not pushing the payload and they only had like 3 modes IIRC.
You can MVP in R6 as bottom frag and I use that as an example of the typical toxic top fragger flipping out they didn’t get a pat on the back.
KDA doesn’t mean anything if you lose OBJ. 13 random kills is less than 3 clutch kills pushing/denying OBJ.
That said, if you’re not getting kills then you should either be doing chip damage for the fraggers, throwing walls down in front of snipers, and just running that flag.
That or people think your role in a game is static is beyond me, if you’re in a position to make a play, then make the play.
Idk at least for me I think it shows who’s played team sports and who hasn’t when the 0 kill flag guy is -Yoink!- OR the 23 and 2 guy -Yoink!-
I hate to tell you this, dude, but not everyone wants to play the same way as you. It sucks when no one goes for the objective, but sometimes you just have to accept that it’s a new Halo game where most people just want to mess around with the new sandbox on the new maps. Halo’s multiplayer has historically been more of a party game. Putting people down because their objective play is inferior is just as cringey and toxic as putting people down for inferior K/D. We get it, you’re the pro alpha gamer who always goes for the objective, you’re so cool bro, but more people are probably trying to help than you think, and you probably need to play more to your team’s positioning. If you just blindly rush the objective with no help, you’re just gonna die. Get in a warthog and hover it around objectives to stop the enemy team, go for power weapons and support the points you do have, etc. Don’t understate the fraggers, them doing skirmishes with people around the map is more of the enemy distracted from the point, and potentially keeping power weapons away from the enemy as well…
Yeah, being top fragger means nothing if you don’t play objective (I’d argue killing an enemy is potentially preventing a powerplay), but having most captures means nothing if you’re -Yoink!- at holding said objective. If you keep throwing yourself at an objective without the gun-skill to back it up, then it doesn’t matter if you’re playing objective. When it comes to BTB you’re better off letting the game play out however it does, rather than being concerned with your team’s performance. If you want the whole team involved, you’re better off just going into ranked, because at least there the expectation is set that you try your best.
It’s not news to me, my point is if your only strength is fragging you can at least pay a tiny bit of attention to what your team is doing. Nor am I 100% tunnel vision on OBJ, if I see people in a 2v4 I’ll drop and engage.
It’s just that everyone talks about KD as if it’s the only thing that matters when YOU selected BTB, you know what it is. Multitasking and having some level of spatial awareness dictates if you’re a good player or not. Not even mentioning all the intangibles for various situations.
I hate to break it to you, but maybe the game mode with the word “team” in it involves cooperation.
To your point, I love ranked. Quick play can be just as tight a lot of the time shockingly, but there is more mic users in ranked obviously. Although last night in ranked I had 2 high teammates having a very serious discussion about life and mental health. We lost, but I wasn’t about to interrupt over something surprisingly healthy for dudes lmao
I want ranked BTB and I’m gunna force you to play on my HCS BTB team and fork over your winnings too, because we’re going to win or no dinner.
