Pve spartan point reduction

Why did they start giving us double points only to take that away from just pve? As someone who can’t do pvp due to my internet speed (before anyone says just upgrade I can’t because of where I live and how much it’ll cost, I looked into it) I feel a little shafted but that’s mostly because pvp still gets double.

No clue. And in typical 343 frustrating fashion, they finally make a great change that everyone appreciated and it was quickly removed with no warning and no reasonable explanation.

Let people play and unlock things. Reduce the time gate on making their characters look cool and incentivize people to play the game.

Stop with the FOMO and the time gating. Sure, max rank can take a while but there’s no reason someone cant make a cool Elite without an insane time commitment.

See the 28 September release info here:
https://support.halowaypoint.com/hc/en-us/articles/8955559396372-Halo-The-Master-Chief-Collection-MCC-Update-August-2022

See the Message of the day on why they were removed. Most PVP were reverted back - only the 3 new Halo 4 ones remain doubled (with no explanation as to why).

I agree this was a poor if not outright needless change made to the game.

Now I WOULD be able to understand them doing this if the payoff was an overhaul of the exchange and everything in it was available at all times, meaning it’s essentially one giant season 9.

It’s noy just PvE, 343 took them away in PvP too.

I need some of your Hopium, my goodness. This type of Christmas spirit is what I need in my life.

Must have happened after I last checked thanks for the heads up

thanks I’ll give it a look

I looked it’s 2 points on the first 2 challenges that’s how I got mixed up on that part

Not hopium, just a willingness to accept a mild downgrade of one thing for a substantial upgrade to another. Keep in mind it is a “What if” scenario.

Basically it was a band-aid to fixing other things and then it was taken off when it was healed.

Except, the bandaid was great.

Trouble is, they don’t want us getting 20-24 points a week - that means we’ll progress through the passes too quick, which means player retention, long term, regular, gets hurt severely.

Part of the point of designing these systems is that they get to string you along for long enough for the other stuff to drop - or to give you a backlog because you were busy.

Basically, it’s insidious but I’m gonna’ be frank - 343i is not the only one doing it nor did they pioneer it and their version is… Pretty timid compared to a lot of games.

Not defending them or justifying it. In fact, I hate it. I also recognize that it’s fairly necessary to compete with other games that do that same thing… and that’s the worst part, right?

When everyone does it and you don’t, you can be a great example, but you’re gonna’ get left behind and die off.

It’s awful. The state AAA gaming is in, isn’t good.

Seems like the difficulty got ramped up on Nightfall in Halo Reach and I just completed it on legendary under 20 minutes and didn’t get progress on either challenge.
