PV. is. not. overpowered.

a lot of peope keep saying PV is overpowered. well… its not. we have active camo still, hopefully PV wont pick up players in active camo, if it does, goodbye pre order.

anyways, its all good if u can see me behind a wall or 2, it’ll be UR mistake for coming after me

Why should I have to use active camo so:

-Players can’t see my every move on the map.
-Players can’t see what weapons I’m using.
-Players know when to walk away, if I have a power weapon.

Everyone who’s played Halo 4 agrees that PV is overpowered and will definitely be changed in the final version.

I don’t think any of us know for sure whether or not Promethean Vision would work with all the stuff they have yet to show us, however I think we’re just a little bit scared that we’ll have another armor lock on our hands.

PV only gives out information, it does not give you any edge on battle you would not have with the radar. I can understand when people say it goes beyond the radar’s range its OP but that’s easily fixed by making the delay on showing enemies at said range longer.

What’s most annoying is when you have people give bizarre suggestions to “balance” it like make all enemies show up as blobs or, my favorite one in this case, make everything red so its harder to make out the enemies

i just think camo should balance it, how can PV pick up something invisable?

^^
-Ditto THis.

Then say goodbye to multiplayer matchmaking. People’ll be going around with only camo and PV.

More like hide and seek.

sounds like a great idea for custom games

It actually does.

But the sad thing is, I’m talking about multiplayer matchmaking.

No offense, OP, but you did nothing at all to support your claim. In its current build it is definitely overpowered. At least relative to the other abilities.

Given how it’s biggest benefit (seeing through walls) is covered by an innate trait that all players have, PV should have a few perks for taking up an AA slot.

Otherwise, why pick it?

Hmm… Pre orders are ordering the game before it comes out and you say that the revelation of PV seeing camo will cause a drop in pre orders, but if we won’t find out until after the game comes out how will this happen?

Don’t mind me, just pointing out some possible faulty logic.

To everyone who says “zomg PV iz nawt Oh-Pee gais!!!”

Well, the range would like a word with you…

I remember hearing from someone that went to RTX say that it isn’t that useful on larger maps.

Somehow I cannot see how PV is overpowered. From what I’ve seen all it does is show the player where a weapon is(power I think.) from a certain distance. WHY is this overpowered? It’s not like you can see the enemy through the walls. From what I can see it’s a great tool for people who don’t know where things are on the map.(Like random forge maps that pop up in MP and you cannot figure out anything the 1st time you play on it.) PV seems fine. It’s not like it makes ANY difference anyways, once people get use to the maps they’ll all be sprinting to the power weapons anyways, so what makes a difference if you get a location for the weapons from PV?

you must’ve gotten PV mixed up with gears of war 3’s tac-com, its pretty obvious you can see people through walls with PV.

K

it is though

First, I think the whole “pv is overpowered” theory spawned from people buying into what a few MLG players used sporadically throughout E3. Secondly, we have to remember that lots of stuff will be improved, needed, or possibly thrown out between now and release. Lastly, IMO its not overpowered simply to be able to see through walls. It makes for a very nice tactical and strategic advantage. I would even go as far as to say it’s about the SAME level of tactical advantage as Sprinting.

Sorry, I don’t play GoW, but besides the point, yes I can see now that you can see through walls. I haven’t really played any videos on my PC, just my mobile device. I can see why people complain, but it doesn’t seem to play that big of a factor, at least it eliminates constant campers.

yeah I think promethean vision is a really cool armor ability, it works exactly the way it was intended, I just want it to be nerfed a little bit is all.

maybe they could make it take longer to recharge and to lessen the range of it would be nice.

I’m sure 343 will do SOMETHING about promethean vision given the amount of negative feedback they’ve gotten from (MLG) players.
