Put Weapons Back On the Map

Need I say more? I am so sick and tired of running out of ammo (No, I am not going to use the stupid ammo increase perk either). I use the BR because I feel bad if I use the DMR and since very few people also use the BR and weapons respawn so quickly (also stupid) I find myself running out of ammo a lot. I should not be penalized for living for long periods of time and using a lot of ammo (either in kills or assists or even missed shots). Saying “use less ammo and take better shots” is also an ignorant thing to say because if I see someone, I should pump bullets into them no matter what because even if I don’t get a kill on them, or even an assist, I could potentially help my teammate get a kill or prevent the enemy from flanking my team because now they’re weak (or something to that effect).

ragnarok is the only map with a sniper that respawns every 3 minutes

Couldnt agree with you more. We need weapon pick ups back but to bad 343 like the way they made the game so they wont change that. :frowning:

I sure hope they decide to change it. SO many times I’ve had a weapon that I don’t want to lose and when I die, I either have to rush in like an idiot to try and get it, or let it disappear. Also, timed weapon drops are important (like on Ragnarok) but I think that can be the done with the settings as they are (I could be wrong though).

Why not have ammo crates that only work for weapons that drop on the map/load out weapons and not ordances. They could drop as well, or more often then other weapons.

I’d rather have them do this, and get ammo for loadout weapons through personal drops, that and increase the despawn time considerably on loadout weapons as well.

Both of those are good ideas, and I really don’t care how it happens, I would just like to be able to get more than a killing spree without having to look for more ammo.

You are absolutely correct STAP1Eman. You do get punished for not dying in this game. Getting ammo from fallen friends and foes can be difficult because of the speed at which the weapons disappear (due to the number of objects on the map being maxed out). This goes hand in hand with not being able to pick up grenades from friends and foes. They introduced this so that we would have to use a perk on loadout which will let us pick up grenades. We have been given no ammo on the maps so that we once again use a perk which gives us more ammo. It’s totally unnecessary. Halo was always about making decent players feel cool - not about holding these players back! 343 just can’t get this because they have been too busy trying to make a CoD game with a Halo skin in order to entice the idiots that love CoD. The only thing that they didn’t realise was that players who love CoD want to play CoD! They have stabbed the loyal Halo fanbase in the back and have a long way to go in the next TU if they want to keep us.

Because I don’t care about K/D ratio when I play Halo 4, if I run out of ammo, I find that it is almost always more effective to get yourself killed so that you can instantly respawn with more ammo. This doesn’t help you if you want kill streaks though.

Weapons disappear way too fast in this game. If you lose a power weapon and run to get back control of it, it’s already disapeared. This ruins the game mechanic because players would know that someone died with a sniper. This would become a focal point of the battle to get that sniper. Now the sniper disappears so fast that there is no point in fighting over a dropped sniper because by the time you finished a battle to get it, it’s already gone.

I also agree that weapons should be on the map. It forces players to go grab weapons even if they are not all that powerful. It makes the game so bland by starting with a weapon and the only thing that you can pick up is pretty much power weapons. Halo was so cool because all of these different weapons with different abilities spawned all around the map. Oh -Yoink- there’s a mantis! I better run to get the plasma pistol, but to get it I’m going to have to go over there where there are guys. I have to kill them first and earn the plasma pistol. Now it’s just as simple as dying and choosing plasma pistol loadout, charge it up take down mantis.

The game has been dumbed down. People like challanges. That’s what keeps them coming back.

In my experience exile gets voted for more often than ragnarok. I’d say 4/5 times I get forced into a game it’s on exile, which sucks because I hate that map.

I agree there needs to be weapon pickups on the map. This is especially bad in BTB because you have to choose between playing selfish and use your ammo for killing people or wasting all your ammo shooting a vehicle and then either get yourself killed or following teamates hoping they get killed so you can pick up ammo.

Yes, bring back weapons on the map!!

I agree that it is annoying. I take pride in not dying, and it seems like unless I am using the ammo perk I run out really fast…

I use the BR, and there have been a lot of times that I have to just pick up a DMR when I kill an enemy because it’s the only weapon I can get… Needless to say it gets annoying.

I’m all for refining the Halo engine and improving features, but lets get some things straight. I absolutely agree that we need weapons back on the map.

Refinement!!! Not ridiculous change!

You nailed it Diablo. All of the changes were apparently made with little forethought or hindsight. It’s like a COD superfan snuck all this crap in multiplayer while there was so much focus to make an excellent campaign. We need Halo people making Halo games.

Halo 4 mp is not an innovative change in a bold new direction. It’s a copycat of the competition.

Just once I would like to drive a Warthog from one side of the map to the other without getting emp’d and snowballed.

But…

To be fair, 343’s TU for Reach was fantastic. They can do it. I hope we can hold out.

Yes! Please add weapons (on set-timers) to the maps. It doesn’t feel like Halo anymore without having to fight as a team to obtain power weapons and map control. Halo 4 has a great foundation and some of these classic map remakes are playing absolutely amazing in customs. However, I am really missing regular weapon spawns in matchmaking.

I agree 100%. I know mlg will be implementing this, and I know that I’ll be playing mlg 99% when it comes out lol

Lastly, Sinovaski, I agree with you about Reach’s TU. It made the game playable, if nothing else. H4 can be a great game, I’ve always thought that, but it will take some major changes to get us back to the glory days of Halo (H2 and H3). That donesn’t mean recreate H2 or H3, but H4 should have the essense of what Halo has been, and currently, it doesn’t.
