Radar does need to change.

I agree with 99% of the criticism towards this game, but this one — nah fam.

Ranked removes the radar. That’s how Halo has always done it. Go back to any Halo and see for yourself.

However I will say, Ranked isn’t all that enjoyable because with the lack of a radar you rely more on sound yet Infinite’s directional audio sucks. But the radar situation isn’t an issue at all.

Radar has been in all halos up until now. I have no idea what your talking about. I mean to me it’s pretty stupid having an enemy right next to you and both of you dnt even know it. Radar also helps with where my team is. In halo infinite your need to literally look around your whole damn screen for some transparent marking of your teammates.

No radar in ranked oddball, together with the oddball no longer being a one shot kill is a joke when you solo queue like I do. It needs very tight team communication.

This isn’t like old ranked mode. It’s closer to MLG/HCS, and the pros they got advice from wanted these specific settings. I’d rather go back to this being HCS and ranked just being social you take seriously. Either way, the radar needs a buff anyway.

Incorrect - the radar was present in most ranked playlists except for a couple (i.e. Hardcore / MLG modes)

Seems you never played H3 or Reach MLG Playlists

Radar shouldn’t be added back in it makes the games way too campy and removes any need for basic awareness and communication.

The directional audio is pretty pants yes plus all the noise and chatter going on doesn’t help. Movement can be very hard to hear.

Halo ranked has always had a radar. It was only very specific modes like the MLG playlist that had no radar.

I’m not bothered either way about it. Just pointing it out.

Halo 2 had radar. Halo 3 had radar. Halo Reach had radar. MCC has radar.
Some ranked modes like “MLG playlist” did no include radar, but most Halo games included radar in ranked.

I think it makes sense when people bring up MLG settings for Ranked having no Radar.
It’s also one thing to rely on Radar in Ranked and another to play Ranked seriously on the level of MLG players.

Since Infinite team directly consulted Esports players for Ranked, it makes sense it would end up like this.

There’s also another reason they could have chosen to standardize settings for Ranked regarding Radar : MLG players could just play Ranked to stream and practice instead of trying to get scrims.

Not only will this increase viewership for Halo Infinite (people watching an Esports player practice ranked), it will also allow 343 to gather information on what needs balancing on the pro level and also the average gamer level. (Hopefully they see how shyt the Commando is and buff it oh my god)

Yes and the comp playlist has never had a radar since Halo 2.

Not enough with the aim-bot which puts you at 55% accuracy?

Not enough for you with the Melee-hit doing more damage than a shotgun?
The 2 grenades that the game gives you are not enough to make it easy mode

Still want the radar to make the game even less SKILL-BASED? put your mind to work a little bit, I won’t kill you

Halo 3 had a ranked radar on 360 and still does in MCC. Same with Halo Reach.

So many people have this awful Mandela effect - there were like 4 playlists without radar, the rest of the ranked ones did.

I wish they’d just do the playlists setup like it’s functioned in all the other Halo games. MLG/HCS/Hardcore ones go on competitive settings (no radar) but then the other ranked modes just function how the game was designed (radar on). I never got the impression this was a bad thing so not sure why it was changed. You can have both without either having unhealthy populations for matchmaking.

They can do that because your not aware of your surroundings.

Radar never belonged in ranked and it should never come back

Reading that radar and making a split second decision is a skill. It’s a tactical skill.

It’s hard to say what including the old radar in this game would do to gameplay. These maps have a lot of places to hide but also they tend to have multiple ways in and out.

Maybe they should have a “classic halo” event with a special playlist to try it out.

Get a headset and turn up the volume, lol
