Quite literally the final match of yesterday’s tournament was won because of a sick bulldog triple kill play by Lucid. All throughout the weekend the Bulldog and Heatwave earned their place as Shotgun/Scattershot “replacements”. Having the OG shotgun back would be cool because I always loved it, but the Bulldog makes plays.
There should be a solid gold skin for it after yesterday. Someone mention it to 343
it definitely has it’s own right in the game, although I do miss the old shotgun. Heatwave is just a cool addition, nothing bad to say about that either. Now briing back the DMR and the covenant sniper and we’re just about good (ahem, maybe a mode with halo 5 magnum. that gun felt satisfying AF)
Yup. My only issue with the bulldog is that it seems to aim a little too far left on the reticle I have to lead my shots with it. But I think it is a gamefunction issue rather than a weapon issue at this point.
The Bulldog is such a powerful weapon and it’s one I always aim to control. On streets, I feel like the rocket is huge but the Bulldog can take over just like that triple that Lucid picked up on that final hill rotation.
Heatwave is AMAZING, personally better than the bulldog. If you can aim, you can get some quick two hit verticle shots followed by precision. Usually go for horizontal shot if you want to secure a non-shielded enemy kill at close range. If you can efficiently switch between its modes and aim, you are a monster with the heatwave.
I personally like the heatwave better because of its utility abilities, it can shoot through and hit multiple targets, kill vehicles, and bank shots around corners, etc.
The shotgun is a little more focused on just slamming people in room clearing engagements, but it doesn’t do anything fancy beyond that.
It’s the first thing I push every ranked match on streets and bazaar. The rockets are hotly contested and make big plays, but bulldog control wins games.
It’s an absolute monster. It’s consistent. It’s the BEST shotgun in the series. Can it one shot at close range? No. But it can 2 shot at the same range the old one could and beyond. The old shotgun was BARELY 1SK beyond maelee range. So what we’ve got now is just… Leagues better.
with the right movement and coordination, Bulldog will help you kill the rocket guy before he can make a play, or flank his teammates so he’s all that’s left, or clean him up, etc. Rockets only have 2 shots per spawn, so they’re only good for one-two big plays max if you’re smart with them. The bulldog can get about 7 kills by itself each spawn if you’re smart with it.
The classic shotgun and the Sword are basically interchangeable weapons. The only difference between them has always just been which one was better in that particular game. In Halo 2 and 3 it was the Sword, in Reach and 4 it was the Shotgun. But they both always did the same thing. Press RT within range and get a kill.
I don’t understand all the screaming to get the classic Shotgun back. Everyone’s all like “it’ll be the counter to the sword” as if it won’t actually just be another sword.
