I keep getting queued into half finished Warzone games where my team is very clearly losing. Have had an all day losing spree because of this. Anyone else having similar problems?
Not today, but I remember spawning for the first time on apex and immediately hearing, “Defend your core” at least once. Mind you I managed to snag an armory and then the spire while the other team was distracted and held out for a while.
We’re not out of this yet, you can still destroy the enemy core.
i know this is frustrating, this has always been the downside to join in progress. but sometimes you only have to play a small portion of the game and you still get a lot of req points, especially in warzone, just for toughing it out. i know its not much of a consolation but it does even it out a little.
have you ever been placed onto a winning game? i have lots of times. it happens less because most often people are quitting on the loosing team and therefore you get patched in to fill that persons spot. the real problem here is people are quitting these games they are loosing in the first place. join in progress suffers because of it, but join in progress is not to blame here.
the “JIP” feature has solved a much needed problem for halo. when a friend or I gets booted from a game (say disconnection for no reason) then we are able to simply join back into the match. This has caused me a lot of problems in the past, with MCC for instance, where a whole team gets destroyed because of one person getting booted. The first time I got patched back into a CTF game after being booted i capped the flag and we won. without it my team would have probably lost and i would’ve been waiting around doing nothing. same goes for warzone.
I’ve also been able to join friends who were previously in a match i didn’t get into in time, but once a teammate quit/got booted i was able to join their game. it was great fun. in my opinion this greatly outweighs the negative side to JIP.
As i mentioned the main problem that is people are quitting loosing games, not that join in progress puts you into these games. JIP is meant to make teams equal and fair. taking that away would eliminate this and add to more BTB battles that are 4v8, or even 2v8. Warzone would end 5v12. JIP is a great tool that has fixed a broken aspect of the game. Please do not remove it from the game.
I think this had only happened to me once. Unfortunately, that’s just the nature of JiP. People mostly leave losing teams, not winning ones. But it can only happen up to around halfway through I think. It does suck when it happens though.
Ive been placed in matches seconds away from being finished. SECONDS
and taken the loss. So I feel your pain.
Join in progress wouldn’t be so bad if people’s boosts didn’t get wasted when they join a half finished game.
Sometimes going into a losing game can give you the upperhand. Emphasis on sometimes.
Sometimes you go into a losing game and the winners are goofing off and you can snake some bosses from them, cap an armory, and turn the tides, which disorients the winners and causes them to scramble.
It’s worth the effort, because I have seen some swift and merciless turn arounds, and I will shamelessly take credit for a few of them. All it takes is a little know-how, some tenacity, and a team of non-quitters who are suddenly empowered by the change in status.

How about joining in time to see your teams core get taken out!
Dropped me outside the base by the time I’d worked out where I was … " That’s a wrap Spartans "
Must have been all of 5 seconds !
Biggest thing I can recommend, don’t run solo. Always try to run with a friend, or two, or a 12 party group. Halolfg is a great spot to find people to play with. I used to not have anyone to play with and now I usually have about 30-40 people on at a time and always run in a group of 10-12.
Reason #275 why I don’t like or play WZ.

You have been able to rejoin a game you got disconnected from? I’ve never been able to and assumed it was not possible. Was your progress preserved?
I personally love JIP and don’t mind joining a losing team. I have even helped turn the game around for the win. If you go in solo you have about a 95% chance to JIP. If you have at least 1 other team mate you only have about a 5% chance to JIP. Just FYI.
i agree razor 1138. i stopped playing that game type. i had a run of getting stopped and now go with BTB, the pre game lobby really sucks overall for H5. i wish i could see the ranks and if these players have mics and such like the old days. you guys may hate it but it is not fun playing against a huge crew. getting stomped is no fun. when there is a team that large 8-12 people together), the team i am on usually has no chance.

I don’t think enough has been made about this. Joining a half completed game while using a Medal/Kill boost in warzone forces you to abandon the game plan and focus on not wasting your boost. Took me a while to realize that you can slightly tell from the loading screen if you are already joining a game in progress.
I just sell Mission/Gambit cards for their points. I would rather have a guaranteed 50-200 RP than to use it and waste it.
It’s great you guys replied. I still love Warzone, this is just a gripe. Tbh I do as some of you suggested, play with my friend, go for boss’s to make my boost worth it and generally just try and cope. I think as someone suggested, having it shows more info in the lobby and a veto system (like in MCC) for maps you’ve seen too much that day would be great quality of life improvements. The queues and matchmaking in MCC were -Yoink- but the UI for the lobby hasn’t been improved on, and in some cases is actually worse in Halo 5. Warzone isn’t the biggest sinner as JiP is far less annoying than say Team Arena, where you can join the same map, on slayer theory breakout (my two least faves), for a whole day, getting stomped by premades or unranked people who will eventually be Onyx.
Yes hate this.
That happened to me 3 times yesterday… 2 of them being back to back.
Wasted an ultra rare boost and a legendary boost on 2 of those games… Its BS.
Everytime it happens to me, i refuse to play. Ill just leave my controller down while i use my phone. Ill touch the controller once a minute soi dont get kicked for being afk.
I was put into a Warzone Assault game where my team (the attackers) were getting spawn-killed endlessly.
