Why is mcc 100x better then infinite

8 Likes

That won’t happen but looking back at MCC in hindsight, it really is disappointing that lessons were not learnt when making Infinite, they shot themselves in the foot

No pre/post game lobbies
No casual gamemodes
No crossplay toggle
No Forge (@ launch)
No CGB
No PvE
No in-game stats
@ a bunch of things that are broken & barebones such as custom games

The game should’ve been delayed because putting it out this early has killed Halo’s momentum & people won’t return after being burnt by 343.

Not a bad idea but I reckon that this move won’t happen until much later.
I always suspected that halo 5 would be introduced into MCC. But that never happened either.

I reckon that in 5-10 years they will do this to revitalize both games.
Match composer across all the halo games seems like a pretty great idea though.

Never happen.
Technically probably impossible.
But i could see mcc moving to infinite
Halo 5 will get into mcc someday.
With a stats wipe, probably.
Watch when it happens, this forum will be full of “can we import our stats into mcc-infinite”?
Especially 152’s

I mean you have their formal multiplayer leads laughing about how the player population has completely plummeted…

Consistently blaming the community for the games’ problems

it’s tough to see the effort and care when this is their response…

You know that may not be a bad idea come to think of it just as long as they fix the Custom Games Area! :wink:

Y’all gotta realize that it’s not as simple as porting the assets and making it acessible. Halo Infinite will not come to MCC for the same reasons Halo 5 won’t.

  1. They’re on the same platforms;
  2. The servers wouldn’t work together. They simply can’t;
  3. The game is pretty large. MCC is at 110 GB total and Infinite adds in some 40 GB or more (I dunno, I uninstalled it), nevermind Halo 5 which would add 99 GB;
  4. The most important reason: MCC is already being pushed to its limits by having 11 different engines. You can’t add a 12th engine without facing game-breaking issues which would only hinder both MCC and Infinite;
  5. MCC is a game meant to celebrate the original releases, and now to enhance them.

Besides, them adding Infinite to MCC isn’t going to magically make it “fun” or “fixed”. Again, it would only hinder itself and MCC in general.

You do realize that the initial problems that sunk the MCC were caused by engine incompatibility right?

It’s the primary reason Halo 5 isn’t going to be ported to it, and is a glaring reason why Infinite wouldn’t fit either. Slipspace is a train wreck of an engine.

Just adding the game to MCC wouldn’t mean you get all the game modes associated with that game. It’s misunderstood wishful thinking.

you know… infinite is its own F2P game so it wont bode well as another paid ‘dlc’ for MCC…

what we NEED is for H5 to be ported to PC… honestly i’ve so far been finding leagues more fun in that non halo game than halo infinite’ current state

Honestly, for as much as i dislike Halo 5 as a game in the series, a standalone Halo 5 PC port would probably do exceptionally well since it had the best custom games since 3.

I’d like to see it come to PC simply for the fact that I’m a completionist and it really bothers me having a single game gap in the collection.

if they plan on putting a new game to MCC, its probably going to be Halo 5, as its the next in line on the chopping board. but as we’ve heard before, they dont have plans to move it to pc, and therefore MCC

You realise that they struggled because all those games were not native to xbox one right?
They were only available through backward compatibility emulation but they deliberately wanted to upscale everything such as increase graphic fidelity, framerate and resolution. They also tried to modernise and sync the way the controller thumbsticks handle so that the games all felt similar. It’s these things that broke the games initially. Especially halo 2 which was remastered.

Halo 5 was already built for the same platform. There is no technological reason why you can’t slap a new menu on top of the halo 5 assets and bring it into MCC. The MCC games don’t have to run the same engine. They boot the engine required when you load in to the actual gameplay.

Halo 5 also was built with modern tools such as dynamic resolution. So any small tweaks to further improve the graphic assets of halo 5 for series x shouldnt be too bad either.

Albeit I agree that it would make MCC absolutely enormous. But they solved that by allowing you to uninstall select assets you aren’t wanting to play.

Eventually it is almost certainly going to happen… But it won’t be whilst halo infinite is still supposed to be flagship of the series.

Maybe the 25th anniversary they will put halo 5 in the series.

but for as good as it’l do, now having every halo game officially on pc, and those who enjoyed 5 (like me) get to experience it in a better way and have others also potentially have fun with it (pc players)
let’s be real here, 343 wont do that. and even if they do, it’l be a buggy, unpolished mess for the next 10 years after its pc launch. so in tern, all the good that would come from it would be dwindled HEAVILY because 343 is incompetent

I think the biggest reason they won’t port halo 5 right now is the aim assist.
If pc players think infinite is bad then the world will end when they play Halo 5 against controller players. Halo 5 has very strong aim assist

Don’t you dare contaminate the far superior MCC with Infinite…not that it would fit anyways. Why doesn’t every one want H5 & now Infinite in MCC? It makes no sense. How about every one just play MCC and forget Infinite until they make Infinite better? MCC is the best Halo game on Xbox one by far.

SOLLUTION:

toggle-able option to dissable crossplay so pc players would have a fairer fight against non aim assisted players. simple as that. 343 clearly knows how to implement it, MCC has it, so with a bit of tweaking, they could add it to infinite and 5. simple as that. solves that issue. or hay, for controller players, an option to dissable aim assist too

aim assist is a nightmare in that game. I always feel I have to yank my control of aiming all the time

Yeah but that didn’t fix mcc. The pc players still complain about changing the aim assist in the mcc games

could you elaborate on that? honestly i don’t really play with crossplay disabled, so i’m unaware of such issues with pc v pc gameplay on mcc has, with such things off.
is there like aim assist on MNK or something?
