I have never reached it in Reach or Halo 4 but I am simply curious what is it’s purpose? I got to thinking this when my brother hit it 3 days in a row with double XP
There are people at higher levels then us right? So why stop us from catching up…or them from pulling ahead?
In Reach the purpose was to avoid people finding and exploiting glitches in the system to gain massive exp over short periods of time (IE Get Loud commendation in campaign/firefight). I would imagine, although I do not know for sure, that the same idea is at work here. It’s not that a higher level gives you a benefit/would make games unbalanced, its that 343i wants to make sure nobody is abusing a glitch in order to rank up.
I’m sure it could also be related to increasing longevity of MP, but I don’t think that is the core issue.
In Reach I see why but not in Halo 4. They already ban boosters even with the Xp limit. If somebody really wants to boost they’ll find a way around it. So in Halo 4 I don’t really think it’s needed.
