What did everyone think of the pure forms from Halo 3?
Considering the likely return of the Flood in Halo 6, do you think that pure forms should return as well?
I wasn’t a huge fan of them, I always thought that the stalker forms were too easy to kill, the ranged forms did too little damage on lower difficulties and to much on higher difficulties, and the tank forms were bullet sponges, unless you used an energy sword, and then they were far too easy to kill. I like the look of this abomination flood form in HW2, it looks like a good replacement for the tank form and is almost certainly a homage to the juggernaut that was cut from Halo 2.
What are your opinions?
I hated fighting them. I don’t think they should/will return in Halo 6 if the Flood returns, because I doubt it will have reached the Coordinated Stage by that point.
Far enough, although until the new HW2 campaign comes out we won’t know for sure what stage the flood are at.
Abonimation Flood form from Halo Wars2?Did I miss something or do you mean the Trasher from Halo wars?
The Tank and Stalker Forms were easy enough, but the Ranged Form can burn in hell.
I honestly never really had a problem with any flood pure form even on higher difficulty…
Those freaking jackal snipers though…

Considering that the Flood would have been unleashed shortly after the end of HW2’s main campaign, they’re probably still at the Feral Stage.

That big Juggernaut boss in the Awakening the Nightmare reveal.

Its most likely that they’re still at the feral stage, yes, but it is still possible that part of the Gravemind is still alive, if only because it makes the Flood a more believable threat, which is something I think 343 would want to pursue.

The Gravemind would have been ‘killed’ following the firing of Installation 04B. Going to quote from Chimera30 to better explain:
> The way the Halos work don’t kill Flood directly. They destroy neurological systems, even down to early developmental stages of spinal chords. Without central nervous systems, host bodies are of no more use to the Flood, and greater Flood forms like Combat Forms, Pure Forms, and Graveminds are destroyed. However, individual Flood spores aren’t directly affected by the Halo effect; they just don’t have anything to bind to after a Halo event. So in all likelihood, what we will see in ATN will not be the return of the Gravemind, but instead a new outbreak due to remnant Flood infecting some wayward Brutes and restarting at the Feral Stage. Given enough time and biomass, the outbreak could build up into a Gravemind once again, but hopefully the Banished will quell the outbreak before that happens.
Plus, the lack of an extant Gravemind doesn’t make the Flood any less believable as a major threat, if Halo: Combat Evolved means anything.

My knowledge of the Flood isn’t gospel, but that’s how I understand it to work.

Well, the way you explained it is pretty much the same as I understand it, and you’ve put it into words better than I can.
Even if you didn’t like the pure forms in Halo 3 you shouldn’t just throw them out for Halo 6. Pure Form is a name given to flood formed purely out of Flood biomass, in theory they could end up looking and acting like anything. The ones that were in halo 3 weren’t the only possible pure forms they were simply the only ones Bungie finished. Realistically there would have been countless numbers of pure forms of varying sizes, shapes, and traits. If any of you haven’t seen Halo Legends Origins 1 and 2 you should, they give you much better examples of all there different types of pure forms the Gravemind can make.

Your right, although I kind of meant the ones that appear in Halo 3. However, it seems that most people aren’t as annoyed by them as I am, so if they return I’m not complaining.

This thing,it actually look like the juggernaut flood form that was cut from Halo2.
