With the move to f2p, and the campaign still being $60, is there any information if purchasers will be recieving any compensation in multiplayer (such as some of whatever premium currency there will be)? I will be getting the campaign either way through gamepass but I’m worried that other people will see that pricetag and will be turned away from it.
I don’t think anything has been confirmed yet, but I know 343 mentioned there were some items that would be outside the normal battle pass – that could potentially mean there are certain items unlocked through the campaign.
I’d love to see rewards for activities like “find all the skulls” or “beat the campaign on legendary”
I mean, there’s no indication of price at the moment. We can guess, but that’s in the same place as guessing the date right now.
I am certain 343i won’t be making a full priced game out of simple a campaign. There will be other stuff for people who buy the campaign, if it’s priced at that level you mentioned.
I don’t think there will be a premium currency, personally.

Best Buy and Gamestop both have preorders listed for $60 so I’m pretty sure that is for sure going to be the price.
As for currency I am kind of hoping there will be, and that similar to Fortnite and Call of Duty the battle pass will be able to supplement additional battle pass purchases. However, I don’t think that will be the case given that the battle passes never expire.

Those same sites had preordered listed with a date that was causing all kinds of rumours. Companies need a number to be up in order to start accepting orders. Payment is taking on shipment, so once they have a better idea of the price, they adjust and ship on the date given. I’m not saying it won’t be the price, but I’m saying don’t take it as gospel. If it IS that price, there will be more than just the campaign in there.
I don’t believe there will be currency for the simple fact that 343i stated that there won’t be mtx in the game. The only difference will be with eSports, where people can buy digital skins and stuff that support their favourite teams. I imagine it will be tied to either just a straight up cost for purchase, or the xbox purchasing system.

There absolutely are mtx in the game. What 343 said is you can’t buy tiers of the battle pass to finish it faster and battle pass stuff won’t be in the store.

At what point did they confirm no mtx? I’ve heard that said multiple times but the only information I have found is when they said “nothing in the battle pass will be purchasable in the store”. That kind of confirms there WILL be a store with mtx

I don’t understand this mentality.
Not yours but the one you expressed concern for others to have.
If people are OK with returnal and rachet being 70 rachet being a beautiful 8hour game.
Then how does infinite look like a bad value proposition. I mean how many copies did facry 5 sell, how many preorders does 6 have?
Its not like the price is for a linear cod style campaign.
Anyways OP i think we can be confident that gamepass will drive the game for most consumers.
Hell my buddy just got a series S and signed up to GP because of halo infinites MP reveal and the week before he said. “I have no need for any console besides my PS5.”
I think infinite will be alright.

I think it comes down to the concern that people have for 343is writing and pacing for previous games. For instance, a lot of people HATED h5s story (personally I thought it was pretty alright, not great but alright) and have lost confidence in 343. With them taking this huge undertaking I think some people are concerned about how it will play. With the multiplayer essentially carrying h5, and inifites being free, the campaign now carries that entire price tag.

Ya I can understand that. I thought halon4 and 5 had excellent premises and just lacked in execution. I even think the cortana and chief aspect of 4 was written really well.
The design of the games from what we’ve seen is a big departure from 4 and 5s linear design philosophy.
I can get people being doubtful of marketing and 343i has a history of misleading players in marketing but this is a new team that appears to be recepive to critique.
Marketing this time is way less informative, I think to avoid messing with expectations.
On the the topic at hand is we do not know how coop is being packaged. If its part of campaign they may be able take out most banished AI assets from the f2p install. Making it more accessible.
Personally my most major fear now is failure to resolve the hanging plot threads from halo 4 5 and wars2 and incorporating the EU stuff that seems to be closer than ever to the core game narrative.
I really hope blue team isn’t just MIA for instance it would really hurt my enjoyment.
With MP Being F2P And Campaign Being $60 I Don’t Think So TBH With U

I agree here I want a great story and 343 screwed the pooch last game. I mean 4 ended Cortana and Chief in such a good way then 5 was like oh guess whose back but bad its like come on really.
that being said Blue team was said to have been picked up by the infinity along with Halsey on Sanghelios after the events of 5 when Cortana was out wrecking solar systems so Blue Team and Halsey should all be on the Infinity.
343 has a lot of story lines to merge and tie up in this game so hopefully they do it right. I am hopeful but no matter what I am going to love it and Halo will consume me.

I know this opinion is kind of the minority but I actually liked the way h5 story worked with Cortana (although the hunt the truth storyline I think was a billion times better), I don’t think it was as terrible as people make it out to be.
The reason for this is that with 4 ending (and the beginning of 5) it kind of shows Chief entirely throwing himself into running missions to avoid dealing with the fact that he lost probably the person (thing?) that he connected to the most out of anything in his entire life. Some complaints with 4 is that Chiefs personality changed a lot and he was a lot less quiet, which I think is great for character development and showing a more “human” side. With 5 he is almost in denial and when he receives contact with Cortana he completely abandons the UNSC which has been all he has known his entire life. Whether Cortana is who she was before or just a rampant shard we dont really know for sure, but having Chief believe she is still alive and can be saved only to realize she’s exactly what he is fighting I think was greatly done.
TLDR i think the story is going well, although the execution news some work
The onus is on 343 to make the Campaign value for money.
I don’t want, or expect, them to sugar coat things with tokens for multiplayer stuff.
And I certainly don’t expect ‘compensation’ for MP being free. That’s a bit silly.
As for H4 and H5. I think H4 was a very good campaign. H5 suffered from not enough Chief and the story heading in a different direction to the pre-game hype.
I literally finished the H5 campaign again last week (on legendary). The story is much better now that the furore has died down. There is still not enough Chief (even though I didn’t mind playing as Osiris) and some of the banter between the characters (particularly Blue team) was cringe-worthy. The story itself was solid, if unspectacular. Probably what you would expect from the middle part of a trilogy.
I look forward to how it progresses. Obviously after we take this detour / refresh to Zeta Halo…

This is very true and I just find it hard because of the great ending 4 had and the fact they could have gone in so many other directions after that. 5 could have been a game about healing a pushing forward rather than moving backwards and then resisting the one closest to you. albeit for good reasons of course. So i cant say that I hated the H5 story I actually quite liked it myself as I tend to like everything Halo no matter the change. I just personally wish they would have gone in another direction because now with my own personal hope since I love Cortana i want her to be redeemed somehow like she was locked away deep in some code behind rampancy or some -Yoink- and then chief saves her life she saved him in 4 and boom big reunion he put Cortana back into his head and we go off killing covey, banished, and flood -Yoinks!- just like before. that would make me happy lol

Ya for me. Cortana coming back as an evil possibly logic plagued tyrant wasnt a bad concept just mismanaged and the way it was told removed the most interesting facet.
I hope that there is consequence to the events of 5 and infinite isn’t just an attempt to return us to the halo 3 status quo.
Also on blue team: shadows of reach.
Blue team and John are together after the mission a very short period before the events of infinite and directly set up the game because…
They recovered 3 cloned brains of halsey from castle base identical to the one she used to make cortana. And another object, that is needed to defeat the created threat. They all leave together on infinity. We also get an explanation for how atriox is in sol and can lead banished on zeta.
You can play halo infinite before everyone else, you just have to join Halo insider
I believe the fully priced Halo Infinite campaign comes with season one of the Infinite Battle Pass and most likely campaign-exclusive content for those who buy and play it.
